The reality is you just were not noticed. None of the strip casinos have ever allowed it.

Are the casinos on Fremont normally okay with it? I ask because I've oc'd in them alot and never a problem, although I have seen signs saying "No Weapons". Just curious if they just didn't notice or make it a point to not care.

I had walked around in the Mandalay bay, cosmopolitan, MGM, golden nugget, Fremont area and even Paris in front of officers and the memorials people were leaving. no issue; but like Steve said, I'm sure I was just not noticed.

Same thing you just went without the right person seeing you. We have had fremont walks and been asked to leave them before.

Really though its no surprise they dont see you. I watch our security at the big casino I work in and most of them are just zombied out from standing in one place or walking a path all day.

I've never seen the no weapons signs but I haven't attempted to OC in them either. I was told by a dealer once (in the Flamingo I think) that all the uniformed security staff used to carry but they stopped that several years ago because it was freaking out some of the patrons. So I suspect they probably won't want us regular folks OC'ing in there either. On saying that, I'm wagering that they just didn't notice anyway.

I know very well what Steve is saying., and He is correct to say it, however the "what if" side of me wants to wander a little and think. After the 2 cops were assassinated at the pizza place and other issues, that have gone on. Is it possible that they see a guy with a gun and immediately think DEFENSE just as you or I would? They would then follow discretely for a min. and realize that the guy was trying to locate the wife, etc. realizing that a confrontation is unnecessary. The security staff on the strip (working the hotels) wear body armor and are briefed from the fusion center, so while i have zero facts, I believe it is a possibility.

I believe some of the luck of not being asked to leave has to do with them at first glance not realizing what they see. Almost everyone now days are wearing some kind of holster for a cell phones, with some tourist cameras and phones. If the firearm is of a smaller size, holster covers most of it and black might be first glance for many ends up with the assumption it is a cell phone.

OC to my Doctors today walked in with my full size 40 on one side two Mags on the other and my 22lr revolver in my buckle. Right through the middle of 20 or so in the waiting area watching live news on two large TVs talking about the mass shooting in San Bernardino. Got a few looks that was it. Later was leaving Chili's very nice maybe early retirement age black couple came out at the same time. He said something very positive about my firearm that started a conversation. I believe he was telling us he was a retired LEO from California and said time to start carrying again. I gave him some info on OCDO, OC face book page and NevadaCarry.

I was at Walgreen's getting photos taken to send the ATF for my FFL, A gentleman came up , about 70 or so, he was wearing an American flag shirt, Vietnam Vet "lettermens jacket" and Vietnam Veteran hat. We struck up a nice conversation. After about 10 miutes or so he saw I was carrying a full size 2 tone .45. He told me "thank you for carrying, when I reached in my pocket to give him a card, (recognizing him as a supporter,) he backed up. Like really backed up. He said "I hate guns, but love that you carry." He continued saying that he wanted to be near me if "trouble came through that door." I have been OC'ing close to a decade now, and this was a first.

My Dad who is now deceased, a Veteran of the second war to end all wars, who served in the Army in the Philippines, would not touch a firearm. He was however a staunch supporter of those who did. I'm guessing he saw too much as he would never talk about it. He had night terrors from it to his dying days. PTSD I suppose. He carried it with him for 65 years.

Some people suffer terminal burnout, some do not. No rhyme or reason why some and not others.

OTOH - he must have lots of good memories to be wearing his colors so proudly.

That makes since. So many aspects of the affects from the trauma they saw or dealt with. My morning med remark was without consideration to such issues.

Another unremarkable day. At 7/11, got a "Hello, fellow gunslinger," which was cool and a lady at Home Depot asked if I was cop. Nope, just a regular dude buying his 'holiday' tree.

NV OC - how did it go?

Can't you put some lights on your palm tree, or juniper bushes? One year we put holiday lights on a few tumbleweeds - was fun burning them to ring in the new year.

Was in Vegas OCing getting ready to get in my vehicle when a lady with a very thick English accent asked me if it was legal to carry a gun like I was. I sad no I am carrying it illegally. She goes O. Her friend said he is lying. Two couples from Australia, she said just not use to seeing anyone carrying a gun in public. The one lady asked me if someone was breaking into your house do you have the right to shoot them. I told her we have the right to defend ourselves including lethal force if required. She said not in Australia about the only thing one can do is leave their own house if they kill or injured the intruder they are in trouble. The husband said there is a lot of hunting including kangaroo. I can see it now a kangaroo head mounted on each side of the fireplace.

And much meat in the freezer + lots of good supple leather.
