Most likely you weren't noticed, handful of guys had been tossed back in the day. All carry is still prohibited on their CoC's (not that we care), but it would be nice if they decided it's not an issue and quit harassing their shoppers.

That's possible, but I don't dress or carry in a manner to draw attention. Usually when people notice, I've been in their presence for several minutes, then all of a sudden it's right there in their face and it's a surprise to them.

Kinda takes that OC vs CC argument about the OC guy getting shot first and discredits it. Heck they don't even see me when I OC. ;o)

Srings Preserve

Took the family to the Springs Preserve yesterday. Outside the main enterence a sign clearly says "No Firearms". I ignored it and went in. Neither the girl selling tickets, nor the guy taking them said a word. I'm sure they saw it. Spent a few hours there and not one problem.

It is 180 acres located just off Valley View. My understanding is it's City of Las Vegas although the NV state museum is located there as well. We didn't get to that portion of it.

I actually wondered what entity it was, I met my family there over the summer during a break from work and noticed the sign. I was not OCing at the time but did make a note to research further on what governmental agency affiliations there were, if any. Good to know there weren't issues.

The preserve is run by The Las Vegas Valley Water District. The Clark County Commissioners serve as the Water District's board of directors. The board appoints the general manager, who carries out day-to-day activities.

Well that explains the unfriendly signage at the front at least. Cc commissioners aren't fans!

Sweet! Welcome to OCDO!

Thank you. I've been lurking for a few weeks reading up on the laws and taking note of the friendly places, kinda friendly places and unfriendly places to OC.

I was with my 2 sons and wife last night. For the first few minutes of being in that women area there seemed to have been quite a few Target employee's but they were either restocking items or browsing as if they were shopping themselves. They might have been off the clock but who knows. I had my hands full with my 2 boys hiding in the clothes racks trying to scare each other.

Went to look for vitamins in the pharmacy area and got a few looks from mothers with kids but no concerned looks. One guy with his girl did such a hard double take at my gun that he almost walked into the shelves, he has this "holy crap he has a gun, I want one!" kind've excited look on his face.

A different guy approached me as he was leaving to ask if he needed a permit to OC. We talked for about 5mins about that before we parted ways.

No problems at the register but I did get dirty looks from the Target Employee standing between the entrance/exit doors.

Sams Club gas station in the NWLV. The attendant came over saw me putting on my gloves to grab the pump and said, "Let me pump it for you. No need to put on your gloves, I've got it. Let me do this to thank you for open carrying". He did and we chatted a bit with him saying he's seen me there before oc and had been meaning to come say hello.

Last weekend went on a Motorcycle campout. Lynx Lake just outside of Prescott Az. OCed everywhere, in the campground host did not say a word. Prescott Wal-Mart no issues, gas stops no issues. Rode to Jerome Az small old time mining town went through the shops had lunch OCing no issues. Next day rode to Cottonwood Az for a large bike rally. Just as we started saw 3 local LEOs. One of the few times I ever ask however was there for a good time, did not want to get harassed and was not sure if they some kind of ordnance and temporary rule due to the rally. I gave the LEOs a quick rundown of my knowledge of Az gun laws and they said sounds like you got it and I was good to go OCing at the event. They did say if I wanted to enter where the stage area was the promoters had their security and they were not allowing firearms past. I walked up to the security and asked if I am good to go in, he said this is AZ no problem. We had lunch at a 60s era gas station with the shiny recondition pumps out front converted to a malt, shake, and burger joint it was good and not issues with my firearm. Got ready to leave for the campground and saw another OCer, talked to him for a few he was from Phoenix.

Open carried at the Pahrump festival. Saw another OCer that has posted here. Also saw a woman OCing. As I was walking pass one of the booths a guy said hey let me check out your buckle. I have a Northern American Arms buckle with a removable 22lr 5 shot revolver and he saw it.
Stopped to show him and there was a black lady sitting next to him. By the way she was talking did not realize it was an actual firearm. She appeared to be interested asking questions so I explain to her what it was. She said what are the shiny things you have of you hip? I said that is ammo for my other gun. What gun? She had not seen my full size 40cal on my other hip; I turned, the ammo is for this one. She then asked if I was law enforcement, Not one I of course said no I am not. Her face changes from enjoying a conversation to a disgusted look turning away and waving me off.
Something about her gave me the feel she might be willing to lessen. Instead of walking off I put one hand on my mag holster and one hand on my firearm holster and looked her in the eye and asked do you know what this mean, it means that I have passed a background check. She turned and the look on her softened as she did get what I was telling her. I told her if you see a non-uniformed person carrying a open firearm he may not be a cop however in order to have a gun and legally carry it that person cannot be a felon. So what it means for you to see me willing to carry my gun in the open is I am not the bad guy. She says thanks for educating me. I said many of us do receive training which we have to pay for. I told her legal gun owners cherish our 2nd Amendment right. Thou there is the extremely rare occasion we are very careful not to do something that would jeopardize that right. She now with a smile said thank for the info have a nice day.
