No. Constitutional Carry removes the permit requirement, restoring the former privilege into proper status as a Right.

Amen! Hence my issue with cc. While I would prefer to cc, I am so opposed to paying for a right for then it is no longer a right.

When the very people that the second amendment was designed to protect you against are given full authority to arbitrarily take that away from you.....arrg!

Now I know that you would like to speak freely on this, but first please deposit 2 dollars for your permit.
Would you pay to vote? Would you pay to speak freely? Would you pay to bear arms?

Constitutional Carry is to carry in any way and any place (read: without restriction) you want with no one having a say in the matter. Nowhere in this land is there true Constitutional Carry.

Not to continue the hijack, but perhaps curtail it; I think the original point was mostly questioning the intent of the government in restoring the right. It wasn't to give people freedom, it was to encourage them to cover up their freedom since they were exercising it anyway.

That said, "Constitutional Carry" was still the right thing to do, though I actually don't like the misleading term. There are many restrictions on it.

still doesn't change my point. trying to get everyone to conceal carry.

BTW. concealed carry is unconstitutional in NC. we can open carry without permission from the government. i know that doesn't mean anything to you guys. just trying to point out the effort to get all of us to hide our rights till the sheeple get scared every time they see a gun

Re: NV OC - how did it go?

Went to greenland market yesterday to pick up some korean food with my girlfriend. I have never seen such a NICE grocery store. It seemed more like a mall than a grocery store.

Re: NV OC - how did it go?

The gf and I went to American shooters today and holy crap did they get expensive!!!! For two guns, two boxes of ammo, and two targets it came out to 90 somethin bucks. That was even AFTER they gave me 5 dollars off for being military. I dont remember them being that expensive. Definitely wont be going back there again ever. There is usually a long line and some dumbass always brings in a smith and wesson 500 or something like that. Today there were two guys with ar15s on the pistol range.

I actually joined their club for a year. I wound up hating going there so much that I wasted that entire $350. I had a range officer bark at me for clearing a pistol and passing it to my friend in the next lane with the muzzle down and slide locked open. I was apparently supposed to hide it in a bag before passing it over. He was a real *sshol* about it considering I was extremely safe while violating some unknown stupid rule. He came jogging (I don't think he was capable of running) and barked: "I'ma gonna tell you what you will NOT do anymore!" The whole time he's lecturing me, I'm just being my normal "Yes, sir" while I'm wearing my red NRA Instructor shirt.

I used to shoot their IDPA and USPSA monthly matches, too, except I got tired of the employees cheating as well as airgunning with loaded pistols at their hip while people were downrange, also in violation of the rules of the sanctioned sport.

You got lucky. The .500 was probably back at S&W, again, for repairs.

OC'd at the Battle of the Boggers, mud drag event, in Battle Mountain. Only disarmed to race.

After the race we stopped at the Winnemucca Inn/Casino for dinner. A couple of us OC'd there with no issues.

I had this same exact thing happen at American Shooters the last time I was there. After this I never returned. I had been there before without any issues however this last guy was a real jerk. Now I just go practice in the desert.

I went there with my wife the one time I could actually get her to go with. She said that she would NEVER return! There were people shooting rifles that were so loud it shook everything. I'm not sure what they were but it sounded like a shotgun. As we were leaving two tourist were renting fully auto rifles to shoot in the pistol range. This is also the time when the guy yelled at me for passing an unloaded, slide back, barrel pointed downward gun to my wife who was in the stall next to me. Like MAC 702 said, the guy said it had to be boxed in order to pass it to the next stall.

To be fair, this was the place that I purchased my first firearm from, the guys up front were great and showed me how to disassemble the gun. No complaints from the sales guys, the range is another story.

OMG! Better call the cops and the news. Just one more oc'er and you'd have had a "movement" on your hands. lol

Obviously I'm just being silly. Thanks for the term, "an “eleven” that is a very good-looking woman who is a ten getting an extra point because she was sporting a large very nicely holstered 1911".

Never had any Nazi stories at Discount Firearms. I actually took a student there to rent a 38 and I insisted that I have to go back there with her & their instructor so as to make sure that we all stay on the same page with instruction. It was additionally so that I could put a stop to any Nazi tactics rightaway should they happen. They never did.

Perfect, I am staying of freemont st. this time. Thanks for the heads up. Did you spend much time in there?

I've been through benions (sp?) and most of the casinos on freemont a more than few times with no issues. I've also been in Caesar's Palace and the Luxor. When I was in Luxor I went to the Titanic and Bodies exhibits as well as their bar with no issues. It was only when I began walking back towards the parking garage that security stopped me and then "helped" me find my car.

Night before last after having a drink with Mac I stopped at the gas station down the street from my house. They have a jack in the box in the station and I was in the mood for a jumbo jack. As I was waiting for my order to come out I heard the faintest voice behind me say "Hey, are you a cop?" I turned around to see three children sitting at a table (a very young boy, a girl and a young man). I simply said "no". The voice I heard before must have came from the youngest one, because he asked me "Why do you have a gun?" The oldest boy chimed in "It's for protection right?" and so I said "Yeah, it is for safety." The girl asked me how many bullets it had and then asked if it was loaded. I responded "Of course. It doesn't make much sense to have a gun for safety if it isn't loaded right?" She looked like something clicked in her head, like she was saying to herself "Yeah that makes sense". At this point my food was ready so I grabbed it from the counter and went back to the table. They asked about permits and whatnot and I told them that if you are 18 and can pass a background check then you can openly carry like I was doing, but if you wanted to conceal (I put my shirt over my gun for emphasis) you needed a permit for that. As I explained it to them I could tell that it didn't make much sense that in order to put your shirt over your gun you had to be older with a permit. The oldest one asked if I had ever had the cops called on me. I told them that yes, I had the cops called on me once. They got wide eyed and asked "So what happened?!?!" and I told them that since I wasn't doing anything illegal the cops left me alone. They seemed to be amazed by this. And of course the dreadful question came up...."What would you do if a guy came in here with a gun and tried to rob the place?" I told them "Honestly I don't know. Because if a guy came up to me with a gun and wanted my money, I would just give it to him." They all laughed and I said "No seriously. I can replace my ID and cancel my credit card. Money is just a thing, and a person's life isn't worth the 40 dollars I have in my pocket. Money is just a thing. That's like someone coming up to me with a gun and saying Give me your food. Of course I would give him my food." This seemed to be a real revelation to them. I asked all of them how old they were because I wanted to make sure they understood what I was talking about. They were 15, 14 and 12. I said "But if someone came up to you, or you, or you (I made an emphasis to actually point at each of them) with a gun to your head, I wouldn't think twice about shooting him. If he only wanted money that is one thing, but if he wanted to kill me or any of you I would shoot him in a heart beat." There were a couple other things that they asked that I can't remember, but I kept on asking if they had anymore questions. Once they ran out of questions I introduced myself and shook all of their hands and then left.

I'm sorry if my narrative seems garbled. I just wanted to type as much detail as I could remember in chronological order.

It was such an awesome experience to talk to these children. They had HONEST questions about why I carried, and no per-conceived notions about guns or people that carry them. I walked away feeling like I made an impact on their psyches that would last forever.
