Other than when I'm out running or walking the doggos, I don't OC much. It's not because I have any apprehensions about it OCing, it's that I catch a lot of flak from the people I live with for doing so when running already and it's easier to just conceal, since I have a permit. They're all avid gun owners too and they support the right to bear and keep arms, they're just afraid that if someone sees me with a gun, they might follow me back home and break when nobody is home thinking there's more guns inside.
Anyway, was running in the Leesburg area, lots of people out, nobody batted an eye from what I could tell, but I wasn't in one spot for too long. Having 2 super cute dogs while running probably provided enough of a distraction that even if they weren't on their phones, their eyes wouldn't see my gun.
Also OC'd while watering the flowers outside, washing my car, and getting the mail from the mailbox. No issues there.
It seems to be quite acceptable among the gendarmerie "up here" north of the Ni.
You do know that anything north of Bull Run is considered to be yankee territory. Per a declaration by a Circuit Court Judge in Fauquier county.
I have contacts in the Culpeper/Spotsylvania area and they have taken over there. I once thought we could hold them at the Rappahannock but they slipped down and crossed at Fredericksburg, then swung west along Rt. 3.
I am sure we can hold them at the James for another few years. Just remember they are yankees up there, bless their hearts.
I'm "in among'um" trying to show them that a 'normal' citizen who just happens to openly carry a firearm (properly holstered handgun) is nothing to be fearful of. Having moved into NoVA from The People's Republic of Maryland, NoVA is a wonderful place, IMHO, to exercise my rights. Sadly, given the nature of the elected officials "up here," at times I feel like a salmon swimming upstream to spawn, only to be caught and ripped apart by a liberal/progressive Grizzly.
I don't know where your contacts are getting their information, but they have lied to you about the yankees taking over in Culpeper. Culpeper is still holding back the tide of NoVa.
Lived there for 30+ years before retired and left about a dozen back. Was there this past weekend and it ain't Culpeper no more.
