Ferry Rides
I live a ferry ride away from Seattle, I think it's great what you guys are doing. I am a long time 2nd amendment supporter. I have a CWP and have carried for many years but never OC in public other than hunting or at the range. I see some of you are OCing in Seattle, are you being harassed by law enforcement? I see some posts where people are being ticketed even convicted like the guy in Vancover. I would like to join the group next time they take a walk around the city I am just apprehensive to do it alone.
I have had only positive encounters OC. I probably receive the fewest questions or looks in Seattle. I met a Trooper once on the boat ramp on Hood Canal Bridge. He was trying to recover a mini van parked on the ramp and overcome by the tide. I talked to a family out crabbing like me. We were waiting for the coast guards submarine escort to pass by. We talked for about thirty minutes before I was able to get my boat underway. The most remote place I was ever questioned was on Long Island and it was more to the effect of, so what do you carry?. Just for clarification that is Long Island in Willapa Bay Washington.
I did get some "looks" on the Seattle ferry but no questions or negative encounters; the Keystone ferry is a good ride and enjoyable because of "like minded" employees.
Stopped by Starbucks in the Walmart Shopping Center in Poulsbo to pick up coffee grounds for my garden, then waited in line behind one of Poulsbo's finest for a sandwich and coffee. He left and went to his car and I left and went on to my car.
Most folks don't even notice, just carry on like you normally would.
