I hate like hell to ask, but can someone provide me a link to HB 168 ,265, 267 and 268? For some reason I get getting sh!t results in my search engine when I try to research these bills.

Go to www.lrc.ky.gov and you can read ALL of the bills that have been introduced in the House and Senate.

Just click the "Legislation and Legislative Record" tab on the right of the page and then to "2013 Regular Session" on the next page.

We should all feel good about what happened with this bill. Because it was brought up and discussed here an OCDO, it was withdrawn. For those who say that we can no longer effect what our government does, this should be a lesson. We can change things, but we have to go about it in the right way. It has been my experience that our representatives want to hear from us, but they want that input to be constructive, reasonable and expressed in quite, gentlemanly terms. Thank you's go a long way. I do realize that I am lucky to have two very decent men representing my districts. If I had to deal with some of the other members of the General Assembly, it would not work so well, but there are a lot of decent men and women in Frankfort. I suggest you get to know yours. Let them know you appreciate their work and tell them how you feel about things. If your representatives do not agree with you, find one who will listen to your concerns. What they do effects us all, even if they don't represent our area. Some have much more influence than others. Most of those with influence agree with us, for the most part.

I agree. It's obvious that you have made some personnel connections when it comes to politics. I have never talked directly with my state rep or state senator. Do you think those messages that I leave with their staff get delivered and are considered?

Most representatives are not from the upper class ... they don't mind confrontation as long as it is not a shout-in-your-face type. Its when they ignore people and the people get angry then I lose any sympathy for the reps that do not respond to the people that they represent.

And I have seen some doozies .... like a guy who used to smoke and blow smoke into people's faces ....

this has been the most anti-year I have seen ... one can expect people's tempers to flare ..

Usually, phone calls don't count for much, emails a little more and a letter the most. Of course, there are some who prefer a different one over the other. Ask the staff which they prefer or meet with them face to face, introduce yourself and ask them directly. Call them at home on weekends.

I'll ask when I call, but do you think calling, emailing and sending a letter is overkill?
