As much as I've seen of "anti-gun" people owning and using firearms, I don't think that's so true. I worry about them a lot. They aren't really anti-gun, they're pro-power, and that almost always involves disarming others

Their end game is dominance and many of them know what it takes to get there

I would thrown in a healthy mixture of ones that think that "only people like them are smart enough" to handle and be trusted to own guns. These are also the same people that likely got a thrill out of being a hall monitor, or cleaning the teacher's chalkboards/erasers in school.

According to the CDC, 2010 stats:

Unfortunately, CDC's next age group is 15-24. There, the counts are drastically different.

Gun-related deaths
15-24
211 Unintentional
2046 Suicides
2889 Homicides
1604 Malignant Neoplasm
93 Benign Neoplasm

Which, in my opinion, supports a theory that it's poor decision making as the root problem, not the gun.
No, it supports the premise that the CDC, a government institution, also hold a bias against gun ownership.

If the claim is deaths of children via a firearm, then it should be 15 - 17 and 364. Once you are 18, well, you are not a child AND you can legally own a firearm.
Facts are stubborn things, statistics are more pliable. - Mark Twain.
Also, how many homicides are at the hands of criminal "children" as in gang related crime?

The CDC advances the agenda of liberals.

I used CDC as a main source to look into that very thing a few years ago.

Turns out the numbers drop tremendously under 18. Also turns out parents (especially mothers) are extremely more dangerous to their children than guns.

Your comment got me thinking, so did a quick search and found this...

While exact numbers of children killed by their mothers is hard to pinpoint, some estimate it happens every few days in this country, at least 100 times a year.

According to a 2009 report from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, that year 27.3 percent of child deaths resulting from abuse were perpetrated by the mother

Ban mothers. Especially assault mothers! (I was going to insert an adjective before assault, but then immediately realized that it would have been taken all wrong by almost everybody!)

They changed how to get the info from CDC it was really easy at one time.

50% of deaths by abuse and neglect were both parents were to blame
27% (as you brought out mothers acting alone)
16% unknown (I take that with a grain of salt)
less than 7% fathers acting alone

If I remember right close to 2000 deaths of children a year by abusive parents. Now of course this takes out of the consideration there are a lot more single mothers than fathers ( not helped by states yanking children away from fathers)

Where as the "accidental deaths" by firearms of children where barely over 100.

Most deaths of children under 18 appeared to be gang/crime related.

I gather from your comment that a group called Moms demand action should look at a more serious endemic than an inanimate object, and I agree.

Zink you mean more single mothers raising the children than fathers.

There is genenerally one (1) each mother and father responsible for each child produced. :p

However, even though there is almost always one mother and one father responsible for the creation of a child, one can be single and the other not! ;)

Now we have to guess what that adjective was .....

My guess: communistic
