Ahh... if only this were true with all things. I think about the MSM and gun violence, gun accidents, NDs, ADs, etc etc. What was the statistic? I can't recall, but something like .06% of all violent gun crimes committed by LACs?

I'd like to start a group of LACs that fight crime. We'll call it the FightUncouth Criminal Kings, Young-Old-Uprising or F.*.C.K. Y-O-U. Then the police can worry about things like traffic accidents and such.

I think it is because most are familiar with the rules of the road. But as more switch to biking due to gas prices, inexperience breds trouble!

By no means do I think bikers are bad in general. Those that break the laws and operate dangersouly are a danger to themselves and others. Thats it :)
I can tell you that here in Montréal, Quebec I haven't seen a single person on a bicycle obey the traffic laws.

I was riding once with my concierge and he took me up a one-way street and we were going against traffic, down the same street came a police car and when we saw the car coming towards us and not being able to pass it we had to ride up on the sidewalk and the police car just kept driving down the street totally ignoring us even though they saw us going against the traffic in a one-way street and I was amazed that the cops won't lift a finger to curb it.

I am originally from Malmo, Sweden and my hometown has probably more bicycles then cars but there nobody would be caught dead going against the traffic laws, when there is a red light we immediately stop and don't go out halfway across and if we don't see a car keep on going like the morons I have seen here but now I totally understand why some car drivers are aiming for the bicycle riders here because they have no respect for their own safety or anybody elses and that scares the hell out of me.

Here is a picture of a location for bicycles to be parked next to the Railway Station in my hometown.

Hope you like it. :p

1. In many areas younger citizensare prohibited from carrying handguns but not rifles or shotguns.

2. A handgun shoots large slow rounds which are stopped by "bulletproof" vests.A rifle shoots a high velocity projectile that goes through a vest like a hot knife through butter. Sometimes bad guys wear vests. Be prepared.

Contempt of cop. Disobedience is the only crime in the New America.
If citizens try to throw you in a cage it would be called abduction...

Well, just like you should not piss off the boss.... who can fire you.... it is just a good idea to tread lightly with those that do have something to hold over you. You do not want them to act on what they have available. :p
Like not pissing off a moderator who can delete your posts? ;)

This may be generally true but the specifics depend on the jurisdiction. Some places a mounted cyclist has all the rights of a pedestrian (wheeling through the crosswalk, etc.)

I'll second that. If I could transport a loaded rifle in a vehicle legally, and wouldn't get SWAT called on me every time I leave the house, I'd gladly carry a rifle or shotgun with me all the time. A pistol, in any form, is a very poor weapon, but we accept the compromise because it's more convenient to carry, and will get the job done more often than not. Why not carry a weapon that's quite a bit better?

And, I have no clue how that relates back to the OP.

So, um, yeah, arrested for turning without signaling. Ridiculous, huh? :D

The way this should have gone down is the chief should have immediately suspended the officer for using very poor judgment, rather than supporting his dubious actions.

Hopefully the civilian authorities will deal with the chief for not disciplining the officer involved, but I am not holding my breath waiting for either to do the right thing.

The problem is YOU.

You have no sense of humor and cannot or refuse to see the humor in anything.

I feel bad for you..... what a miserable life you must live.....

My comment was about the humor of a new moderator's actions, which ironically clearly show the moderator is not a tyrant deserving your reaction.

Yes, I am thought humorless but by my many peers and friends, few and dear. I was taught that humor has no place in public dialogue for the increased chance of misunderstanding.

But y'all are suuuch skilled writers and readers. <<-- Ironic sarcasm and not at all funny.
