how did the cops treat you ?
Could tell they were on the defensive when trying to ask questions. They wouldn't answer much, saying I should direct my questions to their sargeant but then not letting me enter the event to speak with her.how did the cops treat you ?

Well it wasn't actually private property, if I'm correct. It's a park-and-ride lot for public transit, so I'm not 100% sure what category that falls in, but seems public to me. But you're right in that, often if there's no actual law with which they can bust you, they simply make one up on the spot.So the "event" was private ? Thats why I didnt go into that property and film when I wanted to turn in my gun. I knew they would claim some "private property" thing and bust me.
Oh don't worry, there will be others. Usually at least 2 a year for this area.I realize I'm a little late to the party, but I absolutely love the idea of a locked case
with only a copy of the 4A in it, esp. if officers steal & open it... & it's on hidden camera.
Would work other places than these disarmament fairs, too.
I can't help but suspect that the "anti-tank rocket launcher" was probably an SKS with the old (now banned in CA) muzzle attachment. After all, they do tend to stretch the truth quite a bit when touting the efficacy of these "buybacks". Before you know it, Al Qaeda will be (supposedly) turning in nukes to the LAPD and Mayor Vivalaraza will be right there sucking up all the kudos for "taking these dangerous WMDs off the streets".apparently an "anti tank rocket launcher" was turned in , haha
