Because you're the only one who buys ammo three times a week at WalMart? :)

It would not annoy me. I would just chat with John a bit so he got to know me. After he wasa little comfortable withme, I'd just ask him whatthe score was on the policy. Also, whether it was firm, zero tolerance, employee discretion, etc. I might ask him how much trouble he wouldget in fornot letting me walk out with theammo.

(He already does know me. I always greet him, "Hi, John. Got any such-and-such ammunition?" "What!?! Sold out again? [said playfully].

One thing that helps a lotis to show an interest in the person beyondjust their job. For example, "Good heavens, do you have to put up allthose boxes yourself?")

he does know me he doesnt check my ID anymore . When i was buying ammo today i tried to give him my ID and he was like "no its ok i know you" and then he tried to walk me out after paying for it. He really wont give me much info on the policy. I asked him if it was new and he said it was walmart policy. Thats all i could really get out of him.

That's a good start. Maybe just chat with him a bit before actually making the purchase, next time. Give him a chance to become a little comfortable with you.

so is this actually a policy then?
Don't know for sure. I would think it probable based on the idea that John does not seem like the kinda guy to just make something up. Maybe I'll pop in and ask him in the coming weeks. I"ll let you know what I find out if I do.

Ok so i bought more ammo today and he (john) tried to escort me out again. I told him it wasnt for the weapon i was carrying and after about 5 minutes of persuasion he handed me the ammo that i already paid for. This is getting a bit annoying and im wondering why i'm the only one experiencing this.
Time to talk to the store manager perhaps.

Yata hey
