As I stated I work 4pm till we are done (upgrading State agencies computers). I just don't know which city I will be doing till later this week/early next week. I do know we will be put up in one of the local hotels in Spokane and travel to each location. I will keep you informed.

I don't know what it is about us on this side of the state that can't keep a thread like this active. Is it that our OC experiences are too normal or uneventful? Are there just not enough of us active in OC to keep a thread like this fresh? Or are us dry siders just a little too complacent when it comes to posting?

I just found this thread, that's why...

It does seem pretty normal and uneventful here even though I've only been doing it for a few months.

This last weekend I took the kids to a couple of parks, the library (expected comments from the ladies there but nothing...), Double Dragon for chinese and Kiko's Tacos for some fine french cuisine... Got a couple of looks from patrons there who were speaking spanish (It's the Tri Cities after all) but nothing says customer like spending money feeding six.

I've been waiting for another OC dinner or event here in TC but nothing so far. Sigh.

We had a good meet up at Donut Parade here in Spokane this morning. Pretty uneventful, little over half a dozen of us. A few ladies at the table behind us asked if we all were security or off duty as were were getting ready to leave... Chatted for a few minutes with them and left them a brochure. :)

There were actually exactly one dozen of us, if you count the kids. Ironic for a donut shop, I know. It was a good meet with 4 new faces and lots of good discussion planing future meets and upcoming events.

Thor is correct, the plan is for a monthly meeting on the 3rd Saturday at various central locations. We also discussed the possibility of a regular shoot at a privately owned range (more details to come) as well as a cleanup day at the public shooting area on the south side of Mica Peak.

With that in mind, may I propose our next meet be Saturday, March 19th, 9 AM at Starbucks on Sprague and Pines, followed by a road tript at 10 AM to the Mica Peak shooting area for some range clean up and shooting activities. I will post a dedicated thread base upon the response given here.

Also discussed was the presence of an Open Carry table at the April Gun Show. The cost of a table or two is not insignificant and has usually been the responsibility of two or three dedicated members of this forum. What we are proposing is that anyone able to attend the March meeting come prepared to donate something to the efforts of securing a presence at the next gun show. No contribution will be considered too small, but all of us in the OC community should consider it a personal responsibility to support any efforts to promote and advance this practice that we are so freely engaged in. Please, do not feel obligated to contribute in order to attend, but do consider what yo might be able to spare in support of this effort.

I left today excited about the growth of OC participation in the Spokane area and looking forward to what 2011 will bring in the form of activities and exposure to our growing movement. Special thanks to those in attendance: Dan, Josh, Thor (sorry man, I would butcher your full name), Jason, Chris, Ben, Greg, Dave and myself. Thanks to Jeff as well for promoting the meet up on SGT, two new members showed up as a result.

Until next time, Keep Calm and Carry On.

Oced to Napa auto and the gas staton today before the meet with my 3.5 yo son. He was excited to come to the meet so every time we stopped on the way he got mad, lol! Then of course oced to the meet. It was fun! Glad to to see all the regulars and meet the new folks! After the meet I oced to a tattoo shop where the wife and I went to scheduled appointments to get our new tattoos, mine will be of a gun! Then I we went to double eagle where I bought a .22lr, I got a used cz 452. After buying a gun we went to subway for dinner and rite aid for beer. When we got home I had to clear our apartment. Before we left we purposely left lights on because we knew we would be returning after dark. When we pulled up to to our apartment we could see that the all the lights were off. I figured maybe maintenance had to get to our leaky pipes again so I called the land lord and they said to their knowledge no one entered the apt. It turned out that the light switch is faulty, lol! It was an exciting end to a good day!

OC'd to several places yesterday including Lowe's, Hobby Lobby and Target, but the only activity of note was at Taco Bell in Liberty Lake. We walked in and stood to look over the menu board, there was a couple sitting at a table to my right eating their food. They both rubber-necked toward me, grabbed their food and nearly ran out of the restaurant. My son and I could not help but laugh, I have never had a reaction like that before.

I'm pretty open till camping season, March19th sounds good to me. I'll donate my pickup and a trailer to haul some stuff out from Mica. I'm sure Spokane isnt the only place where it happens, but wtf ever happened to "Haul it in, Haul it out.".... Oh well, thats my rant.

OC'd through downtown on my lunch break today. Grabbed some cheap pizza at Rita's in the bus plaza, walked through River Park Square to visit the Verizon store and then back to work. Nary a word was spoken or a look was thrown.

Ran some errands today.

Goodwill Drop Off - No issues, don't know if he noticed.

Gus Johnson Ford Parts - Pretty sure they noticed, didn't comment and were still nice and friendly.

Spokane Valley Pawn 1 - One associate asked if it was loaded, when I told him it was he told me I couldn't have it in there. I politely asked why they didn't have signs, he told me I could speak to a manager. I was going to do that but after they told me they didn't deal a lot in watches and didn't want mine (Looking to sell a nice dress watch and browse their firearms) i decided to just split because the guy that told me I couldn't have my firearm was making me a little nervous. Wrote them an email asking them for their policy

Sri Prasert Thai Resteraunt - Me, GF, Son and only one other customer. The waitress/owner lady most likely noticed and was still very nice and friendly.

OC'd into Costco today to pickup some Pizzas for a birthday party. I think they were too busy to notice. Needless to say I got home safely with the pizzas.

Thor, good call on Sri Prasert. Not the best in town, but very good. Maybe the hottest in town though. Maybe we should do a lunch meeting there some day.
