Never knew that.

Presuming 60 mph, that is about .75 seconds; however, closing speed to another vehicle moving in the same direction could arguably be zero.
Me not being the biggest brain in the room, I did not know that either, had to look it up.

I susspect, as was alluded to, a view of the front of the truck would give a proper perspective re the distance to the offending driver.

+1 to you Sir.

I was one of the idiots, I just drive better in the snow than the rest of them:lol:
Went sight seeing and landed at Greentops who had just gotten a truck in with no customers but me.
They had a whole rack of AR's and AK's. small rifle primers and 22 long rifle ammo.

I went through the line a couple of times:uhoh:
See any M1As?

The unit skipped in the recording. The first few frames would flash into the rest of the video. I'm sure it was my unit though.

ITS VERY NICE!!!! I will try to post video soon and review, only thing its a little bright, any idea how to fix that? IR is off. On FHD 1920x

Import it into an NLE and cut the exposure back and increase the gamma post.
Also helps to increase the detail lines and midtone contrast.

Make it purdy? What the heck is a non-linear editor. When I put a move in I hit the play button and grab the popcorn.

trying to put this simple so those film people here may tell you I didn't quite explain it but linear video is something like your old VHS tapes. To get to a certain scene you have to play or fast wind the tape to get to that part. Non linear is like a DVD, you put it in your DVD player nd can instantly jump to anywhere on the disc, don't want to watch the previews you sit through everytime on your VHS tape? .. hit the next chapter button on the DVD remote, etc.

A linear editor is what was used for editing film. You unwind the spool of tape and cut and splice it to remove excess scenes. A non linear editor you can make a fresh new version while keeping the original intact. You can specify a start point and an end point (or a length of clip). For instance, the clips I've posted are about 30 seconds long, but the originals are 10 minutes. All I did with the original was open it on my computer and tell the editing program I wanted to start the clip at (for instance) 3 minutes 27 seconds and end it at 4 minutes 3 seconds and the editor copied that part of my movie and made a new movie clip with it.

Thanks.

I think my seven year old is quite capable of doing my bidding on this one. Being a country boy by birth it seems I have neglected to keep up with the times. Switching over to a four row cotton picker was a challenge for me when I was running a two row picker. Now, a four row is indispensable. But I learned to use a four row many years ago. Too old (lazy) to learn that new video editing trick.

Now that I am so far behind on computer related stuff, other than typing words or finding words on the Interwebs to read, I have kids to keep me up with modern technology.

No idea how to post a video here but, I really like mine. It seemed like today I caght all the idiots on camera! driving left lane, guy in right lane is turning right, guy behidn him floors it and cuts me off :( ....

QUESTION! I have loop on, does that mean when the card is full everything is deleted so my last file (if accident happen) would be deleted???? or does it just run over old files?

Like if I had A B C D files and D had the accident but ran out of space would it wipe all A B C and D out or just start recording over A B C files over time?

"Loop" is basically the thing saves the last X minutes of video. So if you had a recording you wanted to keep happen at 12 minutes, and your loop is 15 minutes, you need to stop everything and figure out how to save it before it started over-writing. It's sort of like the airplane blsack boxes (which are really orange) - they save the last few minutes of data because until thjen the plane was staying in the air just fine - no need to save a 3-hour flight's worth of data just to try and figure out what happened in the 2 minutes it takes to go from 35,000 ft to -12 feet.

Trying to figure oput how you get A B C D files when you are running "loop" makes my head hurt. Head says it can't be done.

stay safe.

It will overwrite the oldest file. To quote your example it would "just start recording over A B C files over time". Be sure to select a "loop length" from the menu or it will record as just 1 long file which would delete when the card is full.

My video examples are posted on my youtube account and I link to that, not sure if you can just upload on here or whether the only way to display video is to link to it hosted elsewhere.

One more thing to keep in mind. I think it was alluded to earlier when discussing the "bozo" running the red light. The camera isn't so you can play cop. It's there to protect and back up your version of events should an accident occur. The video of you being cut off is fine to share as an example of what idiots exist but it's not worth pursuing the fools through the legal system. However, if you had ran into the back of him you'd have had the video to back up your story when the car with the fancy blue lights shows up, possibly getting the idiot a reckless ticket. Personally, I'd say nothing about the video until the cop arrives. Don't mention you have it and the idiot will still be thinking it's your word against his and you ran into the back of him so it's your fault. Keep quiet and watch his face when you show the cop what happened. "Priceless" is the word that comes to mind

The camera isn't a dual mode (day/night) type. To deal with that cost savings decision the engineer amped up what was coming out of the camera. This amplifies noise quite a bit. That is why tail lights bloom badly even in daylight. As Peter already pointed out, it can be fixed pretty easily in post processing. A good free player that has all of the filters needed not to mention being able to adjust video rotation (if you mount it on the dash instead of the glass or even sideways) is VLC. Turn on the flicker filter, slide down the brightness some and bump up the gamma for night stuff. I am still getting the samples together for all the modes this thing has.
