This past holiday weekend, from 6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday night, 87 people were shot in Chicago, in 47 different attacks. A 7-year-old girl was among the 17 people who died.

What's the body count for 2020 so far? These data show an improvement since 2017. Could it be because it's become easier for law abiding citizens to acquire & carry firearms?

I live just over the border from Chicago, in the free state of Indiana. Chicago always sees an uptick in violence when the weather gets hot, and this year is no different. Don't expect to see those numbers start to subside until September or October.
