I live in Missouri ( St.Louis ) and have two family members who have gotten their C&C permits soon afterit was passed.I was going to apply for the permit myself, but some weekslater I noticed every restuarant, hospital, stores, with "No Firearms Permitted" posted on the front door. I questioned one family member about this since he attended the classes, and he said ( By Instructor ) " If you have a C&C permit you have the right to carry a firearm anywhere you wish". And " No one has the right to ask you to leave". This is where it gets confusing. " A proprietor noticing you have a firearm can ask you to leave, and has the option to have to removed by law inforcement if you refuse to do so". And, " If you enter the same establishment three more times you can lose your C&C permit". So my?? is what weight does this C&C law have for the gun owner? Everywhere I go places are posted.. And basically I don't see where C&C has done anything. Can someone please help me where I'm possibly missing something here. This has stalled my decision to apply for a long time. 571.107 Endorsement does not authorize concealed firearms, where:

(1) Any Police, Sheriff, or Highway Patrol Office or Station,
(2) Within twenty-five feet of any Polling Place on any Election Day.
(3) Any Correctional Facility.
(4) Any Courthouse or Building used by a Court.
(5) Any Government Meeting including State Legislature.
(6) Government Owned Buildings Except Public Housing.
(7) Bars.
(8) Secured parts of Airports.
(9) Prohibited by Federal Law;
(10) All Schools (Including Colleges);
(11) Child Care Facilities.
(12) Casino
(13) Amusement Park.
(14) Any Church
(15) Private Property with 11X14 sign with one inch letters.
(16) Arenas and Stadiums seating over 5,000.
(17)Publicly accessible Hospitals.
Possession of a firearm in a vehicle on the premises shall not be a criminal offense so long as the firearm is not removed from the vehicle or brandished while the vehicle is on the premises; is applicable to Items 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 above.

Carrying of a concealed firearm in a location specified in subdivisions 1) to (17) of subsection 20 of this section by any individual who holds concealed carry endorsement issued pursuant to this section shall not be a criminal act but may subject the person to denial to the premises or removal from the premises.
If you refuse to leave after being asked and the police are called, you will be fined $100. Second such offense in 6 months is $200 fine and suspension of permit. Third offense in 12 months is $500 fine and loss of permit for 3 years.

Here's the big question:

Why should you care?

If it's not "legally blacklisted", and you're properly concealed, they aren't going to know anyways, and it's a mute point.

In the event you ARE spotted, you have the privilege of LEAVING and taking your business elsewhere(if you are caught, you're not concealing properly)..

The lawmakers wanted to send the message: Keep your gun, keep it out of sight and go about your business.. Otherwise we're going to run you up the flagpole.

This is the wonderful thing about our state law. There are NO criminal penalties for carrying in "prohibited" places. I carry whenever and whereever I want. I have never been asked to leave a business.
