Bailout recipient Bank of America has severed relations with an American company because of a reported bias against their industry. McMillan Group International released an extraordinary statement on Facebook regarding the incident:

McMillan Fiberglass Stocks, McMillan Firearms Manufacturing, McMillan Group International have been collectively banking with Bank of America for 12 years. Today Mr. Ray Fox, Senior Vice President, Market Manager, Business Banking, Global Commercial Banking came to my office. He scheduled the meeting as an “account analysis” meeting in order to evaluate the two lines of credit we have with them. He spent five minutes talking about how McMillan has changed in the last five years and have become more of a firearms manufacturer than a supplier of accessories.

At this point I interrupted him and asked “Can I possible save you some time so that you don’t waste your breath? What you are going to tell me is that because we are in the firearms manufacturing business you no longer what my business.”

“That is correct” he says.

I replied “That is okay, we will move our accounts as soon as possible. We can find a Second Amendment friendly bank that will be glad to have our business. You won’t mind if I tell the NRA, SCI and everyone one I know that BofA is not firearms industry friendly?”

“You have to do what you must” he said.

“So you are telling me this is a politically motivated decision, is that right?”

Mr Fox confirmed that it was. At which point I told him that the meeting was over and there was nothing let for him to say.

McMillan is now refusing to accept Bank of America cards from customers for payment.

A bank that cares so much about security that it puts the customer's Bank Account number in their Debit cards is definitely a good place to bank... At least they took the time to fix that problem years later.

(Seriously, if you have an older Bofa Debit card, one from before '12, check out your card minus the first 6 numbers and the last 2. That's your bank account.)

I'd just suggest never using Bofa. It is pretty terrible.

I put little faith in blog reports. The accuracy and factual reporting is somewhat less reliable than that of the "yellow press" (Nat'l Enq, Globe, etc). But, BoA does suck MAJORLY! I dealt with them for about 4 months 20+ years ago :cuss:, and would never do business with them again. Pax...

Gil - I generally disregard blogs, too, but that info was posted to the McMillan FB page, by the owner / admin of the page.

Forwarded it to the NRA-ILA, which in 2008 had put out an article saying that BoA confirmed in writing that its official policy was not to turn away gun-related customers.
Maybe it's time for an update.

When I first heard of BoAs anti 2A policy I closed all accounts and went to a local Washington owned bank. Great service and they do not mind me wearing my pistol in my bank.

So pretty safe to say Bank of America sucks then

Yes. They are one of the worst companies when it comes to pi$$ing on our rights! They will never see any money from me or my family, except for the Billions of our tax dollars that Washington DC keeps throwing at their feet. Do yourself a favor and find a local credit union, the fees are much less, the rates are better, and at least in my area, they are much more likely to honor your 2A rights than a corporate bankster.
