Any updates on this?

Got this today:

Dear Adam,
Thank you for your interest in our Bojangles’ restaurants.
Our former policy read that concealed firearms were prohibited in our restaurants; however, that policy has since been amended, thus making concealed firearms permissible. Please let me know if there is still a sign posted prohibiting firearms.
We appreciate your business and if I can be of further assistance please let me know.
Sincerely,

Paulette Williams

So... There is no signage whatsoever, and CC has been expressly permitted by this email.

I wonder if I should ask specifically about OC? I'm thinking not.

Regardless, the security enforcement guy told me "no firearms on property" which is obviously crap.

I would probably be legal to go back for lunch one day soon OC'ing, since there are no signs, and Miss Williams' official response did not delineate mode of carry.

It would be nice to have some company!

Anyone want a biscuit?

Adam

Sent this back:

Paulette,

I sincerely thank you for taking the time to respond to my inquiry. I do so love my cajun biscuits and sweet tea it's nice to know I can continue to patronize your New Bern Ave. location! I think it is very prudent of businesses to simply follow state and local law when drafting policies regarding firearms. I belong to several forums online and know a LOT of people who feel the same way. Those of us that carry pistols for self protection truly are the good guys, and go out of our way to stay legal and keep our records clean.

Would you please provide me with a copy of your corporate policy for future reference?

Thanks again,

Adam

Thanks for the update. I still can't get over the idea of security at a Bojangles. I almost went to Bojangles again today just because of this thread, but decided I wanted Zaxby's instead.

Maybe that Bojangles owner is worried that the Hamburglar might drop in.

I noticed a couple of days ago at the Wake Forest Bojangles, the "no weapon" sign. I was really let down, because I love their food!

Does that mean the GF can't bring her purse in? There might be some shampoo in there, and the Airline thinks it might be a weapon.
I HATE that "weapon generalization". That WF location is right up the road from me.

As far as I'm concerned, it's just a tool. It only becomes a weapon if I am forced to use it to defend myself or another. Similarly, a chair is a tool-that also runs the risk of being used as a weapon to defend myself or another.

§ 14‑159.13. Second degree trespass.
(a) Offense. – A person commits the offense of second degree trespass if, without authorization, he enters or remains on premises of another:
(1) After he has been notified not to enter or remain there by the owner, by a person in charge of the premises, by a lawful occupant, or by another authorized person; or
(2) That are posted, in a manner reasonably likely to come to the attention of intruders, with notice not to enter the premises.
(b) Classification. – Second degree trespass is a Class 3 misdemeanor. (1987, c. 700, s. 1; 1993, c. 539, s. 102; 1994, Ex. Sess., c. 24, s. 14(c).)

Taken to it's legal extreme, this means that another customer could ask you to leave, and you would have to, because ANY person--not just employees--who is in a business for lawful reasons--is a "lawful occupant"...

But I doubt that anyone could get such an instance to result in a citation, or if a cite was issued, I don't think any judge would let it stand...
