Basically no ranges will rent guns to solo shooters who don't have their own.
Really? Is that some sort of unwritten law in Kali? Because here in NV it is not a issue.
In NV, they're kinda hoping Harry Reid walks in. :uhoh:
Ahh, we could take up a collection...

Don't take it personally. I don't think there is a range anywhere that will rent to a single person. Suicide by rental has happened two or three times around my area that I know of.
I have never heard of this or encountered it at any range where I live, but then again I don't think I've ever gone into a range without carrying my own pistol. I rent frequently and they don't ask.

Yeah, I kind of wonder if that isn't the case in more places than people realize.

I've never been to a shooting range without a gun of my own. Thus, I've never run afoul this rule.

Stop pretending like it is some sort of universal rule, because it is not. And did you read the post you quoted he has never run into the rule and rents frequently.

It's a pretty common rule most places, although it doesn't surprise me it's less common in NV and AZ.

It shouldn't surprise you either.

And, yes, I was referring to you. Have you ever actually been to a range without a gun of your own? Have you been to any ranges outside of the Las Vegas area? The answers could color your experience in this regard. Many ranges don't make prominent display of rules like this, since it's a fairly uncommon scenario and most shooters already have a gun, and so there's no need to shove a bunch of rules in their face.

I never said it was "universal rule". And I'm not "pretending" it is, either, since I don't believe it to be. I don't know why you're so fixated on that point.

On the other hand, I wasn't the first person to point out that, in many places, it's hard to find a range that doesn't have this rule.

Post #3, a person from PA said the same thing I did.

Allow me to roll my eyes again.

Do you have a real point, or are you just enjoying the high horse?

Is this a brand new policy? Because I've never had a problem renting solo at Bullseye in Tacoma or Champion in Renton.

Wade's in Bellevue does have this policy.
Our rental policy states that to rent a firearm, you must either bring your own firearm, or have another person with you at time of rental.

I know of a range nearby that has the same 'no loner rental' rule too. I'm not sure if it was implemented before or after any incident but they did have a well known to them range member kill himself with a rental. He had just had all his guns taken away as evidence after his daughter's suspicious 'suicide' in his home a day or so prior.

Doesn't do a whole lot to stop suicides, just moves them outside the range facility. I'll say the suicidal don't go very far sometimes with their newly purchased weapon.
