3rd annual and final Hike That Started It All

Join us for our annual - and final - hike along the same route OCT President CJ Grisham and his son were on back on 16 March 2013 when he was illegally disarmed and arrested. This event galvanized the country and led to the creation of Open Carry Texas. The 2014 event attracted over 50 participants. The hike is a 10-mile hike with rest stops along the route for those that can't do the entire hike. We also need drivers to serve as shuttles if you can't walk but want to participate. Enjoy a leisurely hike through the Temple countryside where it all started and see the exact location where the arrest took place. Event takes place rain or shine. This will be a handgun focused event to commemorate the passage of the open carry law, but rifles are still welcome. However, if you ask anyone that's taken part in either of the last two hikes, those rifles get a bit heavy after about 5-6 miles.

Kids are also welcome to bring bikes if walking that far will be difficult.
