my friend is on her way now to pick up her temp permit from Cromwell PD. hers was 5.5 weeks, scanned fingerprints

Are there any updates on why this continues to happen. Town right gets theirs in days, town left in months. Do some towns get a go fast pass?
I could care less if it took longer than eight weeks
The worst part of all is that you can buy a gun in seconds.
I care deeply about police breaking the law to deny you and I our rights.
I think this is a good thing, and the goal is to get the permit process to mirror this or disappear.
I...Maybe we can incorporate this process into our next drivers license renewal. One license, multiple uses.
my experience so far:
Middletown PD, Ofc Bill Warner, very nice guy. fingerprints were taken with ink and paper-cards
February 14th: submit app and fingerprints.
February 16th: fingerprints were sent to SPBI
March 13th: called CJIS/FBI to inquire on the status of my background check, who told me they have no record for my name and therefore must not have received anything from SPBI for me yet
I submitted my fingerprints with Bill Warner on Feb 7th. i called FBI and they said they received and sent it back on Feb 28th. And am still waiting!!!!
Sounds like SPBI sitting on them for almost a month...Has the PD got the National Background check back? If so, when?
I would not want a Pistol Permit to be incorporated into a driver's license since driving is a privilege.
Eliminating the permit altogether would be a much better use of our time.

call Captain Lozefski at 860-344-3254. after like 5 calls to different departments, I finally figured out that he is the actual guy to speak to about where the app progress stands. when I finally got sent to him I got his voicemail and he called me back in about 2 hours. not only that, but he actually answered all my questions honestly including looking up my file to see exact dates and records and such, unlike everyone else at MPD that I spoke to that just gave me the same seemingly rehearsed lines to get rid of me and make me keep waiting without filing an appeal
yup, that's my guess too
So that's the Captain that handles all that. I called records and they refused to transfer me to him. Instead they sent me to Det. Warner, but all he does is take care of interview. I will be sure to call the Captain first thing Monday morning and leave a message. Nice you certainly bled them for info. thats hard to do with MPD as I have found out. Thankx
Haven't figured that out yet if the PD got it. I am assuming they did
Call the PD and call SPBI and find out for sure. If the PD got the national criminal history check back (they should), appeal immediately.
If the PD has received the background check less than a week ago, and it hasnt been a total of 8 weeks yet, why appeal? why not just say "ok, so when will it be signed and ready to be picked up?"
I see you tell a lot of people to appeal, and I'm not against that. But it does mean a lot of extra time, and extra money, which can be a pain. Not to mention how they require your arrest HISTORY, not just your actual convictions like the permit application requires. Some people may have been arrested for things that will not look good in an appeal, but that were dismissed and dont apply for the permit application. It shouldnt matter, if it was dismissed, but it still doesnt look great, and overall is just a hassle, especially if it doesnt accelerate the process of receiving the permit. my two cents
in my case, between criminal history, and motor vehicle history for two states, I'd be spending an additional $130 just to file an appeal, not my cup of tea *shrug*
