"A prisoner went to a dark place in order to smuggle a handgun behind bars, according to Prince William County Police.
Brandon Delonte Braxton, 18, is accused of sneaking a small handgun into jail - in his rectum.
County police responded to the Adult Detention Center in Manassas for the report of a prisoner in possession of a handgun on March 1.
After an investigation, police said Braxton had hidden a small handgun up his butt before his arrest and subsequent transfer to the detention center.
Braxton is currently being held for a two robberies, one on February 27 on the 3300 block of Ladino Court.
The handgun was reported missing after the Ladino Court burglary.
After the find, Braxton received new charges for possession of a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon by a prisoner, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Police said the gun was recovered without incident."
