What is needed is a more effective method of keeping those who should not have firearms from obtaining them, all the while not penalizing the law abiding citizens right to have them.

Hear, all ye good people, hear what this brilliant and eloquent speaker has to say!

It's not rocket surgery . . .

What a great way to show how law abiding we are. I know it is you but it reflects on ALL of us that OC.

Not only would I carry, but I'd carry in areas formerly 'off limits' as a law abiding citizen...

At that point, becoming a felon and 'losing' my rights would no longer be a deterrent.

I guess you'd also tag me as a 'radical' if I wanted to get revenge for being wrongfully convicted of a crime...

Good luck with that after your second arrest, when you get to wake up to Bubba every morning, and shower with Tyrone.

Let me take a guess at the point...

Felons don't have much to lose. They've already broken the law and have no intention of obeying it. That's just what their attitudes and actions show. They have no regard for the law, unlike us.

LOL. Assuming of course, he follows the law.

I know if I were a convicted felon, I'd carry anyway.

This is a good example that justifies the anti-gun forces' suspicion that, although pro-gunners swear they will follow the lawful regulations in the area of firearm ownership and carry, they really cannot be counted on to do that.

Some (more than just a few) pro-gunners really, really won't follow any laws they find inconvenient.

If I were an anti-gunner, I wouldn't trust a pro-gunner's promises about anything. Some of us will say just about any dang thing, including specific public advocacy of clearly illegal acts. Heck, I'm a pro-gunner and I don't trust 'em to fulfill their promises.

Oh well, cost of doing business . . . just gotta carry those guys on our backs . . .

There ARE NO Constitutional firearm laws that restrict the possession thereof. "Shall not be infringed," you know? It should be like the Brady Bunch says: "Any gun, any time, for any reason."

the point is that all of these feel-good gun control laws only restrict what the law-abiding do, and have no effect on felons and other criminals, and do nothing to make society safer.

Just out of curiosity, would you also cut the tags off your mattress and furniture?

Isn't a lawbreaker a lawbreaker?

I'd say it boils down to four questions, in the State of Washington, combined with officer discretion.

1. Intent

2. Knowledge

2. Criminal Negligence, and

4. Recklessness.

If one of those four was not present, no crime. If they were present, but the officer understood them to be practical for the situation, no crime.

Am I far off where you were headed?
