Tom, if you break it just send it back they will send you a new one. I bought a multi-tool for $5, it had a broken screwdriver. I sent it in, and they sent me a new one.

Actually, the guy told me that. I'd like to have a spare anyway because I use it everyday. Now I have one to use while they repair the other one.

This looks like a worthwhile program for future citizen lobbyists...

I've had an interesting last 2 weeks. Landlords called on the 25th to say they were coming to do an inspection the next day. I didn't get the message till monday night. I right away drafted up a letter related to RCW 59.18.150 and informed them they were required by law to give me 48 hours written notice of their intent to enter. Went about my business around town on the 26th and before I left, I posted the letter as well as a copy of the RCW on the outside of my front door. Came home that afternoon and the paperwork was still there. Went inside to check the recording from my security camera and sure enough they had in fact entered my apartment illegaly.

I immediately drafted up another letter informing them that they were now in violation of the law and I would be contacting appropriate agencies, explained that they were being given written notive that any further violations would result in legal action. Put both signed and dated letters in a sealed envelope along with a copy of the RCW and then delivered it to them on the 27th. On the 2nd, they came by to do another inspection and as soon as they stepped on the property, I stepped outside, closed and locked my door then stood in front of it to block their access. The woman in charge informed my that they would no longer be making weekly inspections to my apartment until they had consulted with their attorneys. She then looked down at my left hip and noticed my mag pouches concealed under my shirt and asked in a nasty tone if it was a gun. I sain "no, this is a gun." while pointing to my openly carried gun in it's holster. She proceeded to tell me again that I was in violation of my lease and that I could not have it on the property. I told her that I was protected by the state constitution as well as the 2nd amendment then told her to have a nice day.

She turned and walked away saying she was going to contact the property owners as she went on her way to inspect the rest of the apartments. The next day, while I was in school, somebody attached an envelope to my door containing a letter telling me that I was to be moved out by the end of the month. I promptly contacted a lawyer I had spoken to in october that I had been referred to by SAF and I had also spoken with in october as well.

Had an appointment with him today. Open carried through downtown Tacoma to his office and as soon as I walked into his office, him and his partner saw my openly carried gun, shook my hand and thanked me for carrying openly. I then produced all of the paperwork I had been acuminating for the past 6 months as well as the 2 leases I had signed since I moved in in 2002.

Long story short, he readily agreed to take my case and informed my in no uncertain terms that I was well within my rights and they didn't have a leg to stand on. He will be drafting up a letter to be delivered to the property owners indicating that they were in clear violation of the law and my constitutional rights and any further harassment or violations would be swiftly met with legal action to include a lawsuit.

Now here's the rub... It will cost me $700 for him to represent me and he has agreed to let me make monthly payments to which I have already made the first of which. Nothing like being on limited income and having to fight a legal battle with somebody that has far more money to spend on legal fees and attorney services then I have... Not sure where I am going to come up with the money to continue the fight should they stick to their guns (pun intended) and continue to prohibit me from*possessing my gun in my apartment.

But at least I will be able to keep carrying in my home until they decide to step up the pressure...

Still carrying all over the place in thurston and pierce counties. Got a comment in a chase bank the other day from a construction worker trying to figure out if it was real or not. I told him that it very much was and that brought up a great discussion with a couple other folks there in the bank including the manager(I think). All has been very positive. Oh, and I got some new SIGs. The rifle is a SIG 556 SWAT with an eotech and a custom muzzle break and the pistol is a P226 E2. Oh God I love them both!

Attended the Yelm City Council meeting last night (Oc'd my compact 1911) to hear the vote on changing the city code to come inline with RCW 9.41.290 preemption. Council passed the new city code and I briefly addressed the council. Full details are HERE

Took Deros to LESA today to renew his CPL (2 1/2 months out). Sat in the lobby and talked to a young gal getting her first CPL. Handed her a OC pamphlet and had a nice conversation. Live to see more and more young females getting into shooting and getting their CPLs.

Oc'd all over today. First was to Petsmart in Puyallup to drop off a cat at the vet. Then next door to Sportsman's Warehouse then Fred Meyer's for some .22lr.
After that I went to Sportco for their tent sale and got some great stuff for an awesome deal.
Then I oc'd to Les Schwab in Milton to get a quote on some new tires.

Absolutely no issues. Had a couple people ask what I was carrying and heard one woman at Sportco say, "Dan. Dan. Dan, he's got a gun." While pointing at me with wide eyes.
Husband looked up, saw my gun, and said, "Yep, that's what that is. Good job." Then he went back to what he was doing.
Almost started laughing at his reaction.

howdy,

First post, I thought I would share a couple positive engagements I had while OP with my wife.

last week me and the wife (Emily) decide to run by the Olympia Farmers market, we were having a great time when two women approached me and my wife, they wanted to know why I was carry a gun. It was a eye opener for them as they didnt know that it was legal to carry a gun. they both were very positive and understood and was happy to know that I was carry for such a good reason. Which by the way I tell those who ask that I dont carry as much for myself but those around me. Just the fact that out of all places in Olympia, I figured for sure I might get some negative vibes at the market downtown. On top of all this they both have booths there at the market, so I will be defiantly buying from them in the future.

Next we went by Winco off Martin Way, a little girl was pointing a telling her mom, that man over there has a gun. I was mostly reading her lips, but by her body language and what I could see her saying it was something along the lines of, Dont worry honey, see if a bad guy comes in here to hurt us we will be safe next to that man. I wanted to walk over and talk with her and her little girl, but I just left it alone, I came home with a great feeling that that little girl now understands that there are others out there with guns protecting her.

Or she was saying "Look Honey, when your able to have Obama in for his glorious 5th term as Glorious President, he will take care of those evil guns once and for all..."

8-P

Sorry, my twisted sense of humor gets the better of me sometimes.

Sounds like an outstanding and positive day there to me. Kudos.

I'm OC at the relay for life breakfast fund raiser at Applebee's in Lacey. If anyone wants to come out for a great cause, it's about to start. $10 for breakfast. The proceeds go to help prevent testicular cancer.

Have they found the cause?

Unless they have the cause how can you prevent it?

Why not fund the treatment or cure for now?

Are you serious? You're really trying to be argumentative about a fund-raiser for cancer awareness in the honor of a 21 year old boy who died a couple months ago? There's something seriously wrong with you...

Yes, I am very serious.

The fund raisers are nothing but money grabs and they don't do any real good.

If I have known about the cure I would still have both of my testicles. I have survived testicular cancer.

Besides, you have yet to answer even the most basic question. Has the cause been found yet?
