Damon, what a nice 1911! Is that a 5" or a 6"? Hard to tell from pics. Also, how do like the grips? I've been thinking about getting something similar on my 1911 but I really love my wood grips.

Thanks, it's a 5 inch and I love the grips. They really make the gun stick in my hand. That and the finger splitter there on the grip. (Can't remember what it's actually called) good luck to anyone trying to get it out of my hand, and it drastically reduces flip.

Got a good for you from a gal at the gas station in South Prairie, the other day. Most interaction I have had for quite some time.

Went to Discount guns, the place was packed, the ammo shelves were almost bare and saw a at least one lady purchasing to carry..

Then walked to Big 5 got a pair of walking shoes and socks no problems.

After that over to Lovers (the adult store) and the ladies behind the counter were very OC friendly and cute too.

Rather positive day so far.

OCd around downtown Seattle for a few hours. Only had some random local wildlife ask me very loudly if I had a permit or if I was a cop lol. I simply replied "Does it matter?". Had a couple local PD officers on bikes ride past me without so much as a second look.

Had a couple conversations with some folks at winco in lacey today. First was a guy and his wife who first asked me why I was carrying(for personal defence and as a preventative measure) their next question was why a gun. My answer; "because have you seen the mess a knife makes?". The second conversation was with a possible unicorn. He said that he doesn't carry when he's on the job and that he was on his way home from work but that he normally carries openly when not in uniform. Maybe he's a member here?

Just got done at the DMV. I figured that someone would say something, but nothing. I take this as a very good sign!

I am new to open carry and have been reading the forums for a few months now and really enjoy it. I got my cpl in the mail yesterday so went out for my first day ever of OC. Went to Walmart in lacey with out an issue. Was a little nervous because there were 2 lacey officers by the front door but just walked right in and did my shopping. Anyways thanks for the great and informative forum and look forward to posting my stories and reading yours.

Ok here goes.

I was asked by a friend to help place a set of stairs he fabricated at the new "H mart" grochiery store in lakewood wa. It is on the side walk outside the building. This building is in the south tacoma way mall center, whatever its called. There are a bunch of companies in the shopping facility. I have actually met the owner several times.

I walked from my truck accross the parking lot, wasn't going toward the door or anything and a security guard that "H Mart has hired to help direct traffic while the store is being worked on yells at me and signals me to cover up. I said why? he said "you have a license right?" to which I said yes but that isn't relavent. He says you need to cover up so people don't call us and say a guy has a gun. I said tell them that it is OK and legal to carry. If I was to enter the store you are guarding you could ask me to leave or cover up. However I know you have not been authorized by "property owners name" and are hired by H Mart. You have no authority in the parking lot of the shopping center. to which he calls over a Korean gentleman that I believe was trying to act as if he didn't speak english well. First guys boss. He told me you can't just carry a gun around, and demanded my drivers license and gun permit number. I informed him he had no authority, and then he said he would call the police. I told him to go ahead and I handed him a open carry flyer and said it might be a good read.

The company was RAVEN SECURITY ENFORCEMENT. From what I can tell from the DOL, the owner also owns a tae kwon do studio in university place. The guys I was dealing with had no interest in listening to anything and as I walked away the guy yelled to the other to remember my face incase I did something else.

I am thinking the main guy was the owner of the secuirty company. Should I contact the owner of the property and let him know?

If he was yelling at you because you were black and he wanted you off his property, what would you do?
If he was yelling at you because you were carrying a bible and wanted you to leave, what would you do?
