Yes, I am very serious.
The fund raisers are nothing but money grabs and they don't do any real good.
If I have known about the cure I would still have both of my testicles. I have survived testicular cancer.
Besides, you have yet to answer even the most basic question. Has the cause been found yet?
Freedom,
I don't know how long ago you had cancer, but the treatments are pretty effective now and have been for the last 10 years. It still requires the removal of the cancerous testicles, so no, you would not still have both of your testicles. It is now, as it has been for years, about early discovery of the disease as I'm sure you are aware of. That would be self exams primarily, and yearly exams by a health care provider. Particularly in the high risk groups of 15 to 35, though males of any age can come down with it.
To find the cause requires funding and research. Your question about cause has no relevance. You know the cause is unknown, and are being argumentative at best. "Funding the prevention" of testicular cancer is about finding the causes. Then finding what it takes to modify the causative factors. You don't have to know the cause to cure the disease, though it will certainly help.
The causes of many breast cancers is known (BRCA1 and BRCA2) , but still requires massive amounts of research money.
If one does the homework, it is fairly easy to find out how much money goes to the research and how much goes to the administrators of the fund. Komen comes to mind, which spends more on administrative costs and suing other cancer groups than it does on research it seems.
For you to come on and badmouth a group and claim they are just "money grabbing" without citing the financial facts for that group, is irresponsible.
