911 discourages people to follow.
There was an incident I got into where my ex stole my car, but since she had prior access to it I couldn't make a report. I came across my "stolen car" and someone whom I've never met was driving it. I chased them and got on the phone with 911. They advised me to immediately stop following them and to go meet with an officer. The officers I met with told me if I would have chased them around I could have been arrested for stalking. What a crock huh.

I ended up having to steal the car back myself, without police assistance. That's what they advised me to do.

not all the time, i was behind a "DRUNK" driver several years ago, they had me follow her to the county line, at which time they called the next county she entered. They did stop her and actually called me back letting me know she was having medical problems and not drunk and thanked me for keeping them so informed!

of course this was NOT in Michigan but in Georgia

So living near detroit where people are confronted by multiple attackers every day is not an expected need in your mind?
It isn't MY mind, or YOUR mind that matters. It is HIS mind. Replacing his rationale with yours, isn't valid. Neither is replacing MY rationale with yours.

I didn't make any judgement about his choice, which as he described was what he chose for HIS reasons, not for yours or mine.

My point is, with a plethora of choices, he did NOTHING. At least, be the VERY BEST witness you can. You had your recorder with you (didn't you?)- narrate what you are seeing, descriptions, license plates, make/model of car, direction of travel. Follow them discreetly, if possible. be prepare to run for your life if they turn on you.

And ask yourself, why did I leave the house with a dead phone?

please re read my post.

first of i did not leave the house with a dead phone, i got off of work after working 16 hours.. my phone was well charge when i left the house..
second i called the police with what little power i had left in my cell phone.
3rd the police was told what kind of truck and a discription off the two wm attacking the one bfm.. the gun i carry as a bug was the best i had at that time...

I believe the OP was looking for feedback on what his options might have been had he been capable.

If all he wanted was everyone to tell him he did good by doing nothing, then lets all sing Kumbaya and have a group hug.

If he wanted feedback, then we all are better off to consider EVERY situation we are in, minute by minute, as a tactical scenario that very may well turn real at the next heartbeat. Never let your guard down. Be courteous, be professional, and have a plan.....or stay in the pen with the sheep.

When the SHTF, you don't rise to the occasion, you drop to your level of preparedness (training).

may i asked when was the last time you trained for a 2 on 1 after working 16 hours .. i dont think it has to do with a leval of preparedness. After sitting down i and thinking, i now feel i did the best i did with what i had.. there were other drivers and people around no one else acted.

My apologies, then. I did not see from your original post that you had complete descriptions of the baddies, their vehicle, etc, and met with police to debrief on what may have well been a murder or rape of someone's sister, daughter, wife, loved one. Or, could have been an innocent misunderstanding. Perhaps she was showing them be best route through the parking lot.

Forget the sheep that did nothing- you are only responsible for your actions.

Sorry; next time include more details so we have more to go on.

so ever time u see a car accident u stop and help, every time u see some one with a flat time you help. better yet every time u see a homeless person u give to them

Now, you're getting it. Matt 25:31

The Judgment of the Nations.
31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit upon his glorious throne,
32 and all the nations will be assembled before him. And he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. 34 Then the king will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him and say, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?’

40 And the king will say to them in reply, ‘Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.’

no it was n the car i was out the car no need..

Cool. As long as you were the best witness you could be, then that's most likely the correct tactical response.

Guns blazing is rarely correct unless you can meet the 'reasonable man' standard that you, or another were in imminent danger blah, blah blah. Domestic disputes are the most dangerous scenarios, even for trained professionals.

Recorders are great for narrating the situation as it unfolds. For OC, I pack a dedicated recorder that is on the entire time I am out in public. I typically carry it when CC, too. Always, the phone is an option- 911 records what you say. LEOs I have discussed this with always say- 'Call the police!' Take them up on that, even if you feel a little foolish.

Don't be a cowboy unless you can ride well.

OR, Don't assume that what is not said, isn't.

Your snark isn't useful

its not about the training i train often. all i could think of was these two may be drunk, high lord knows. what if the guy in the truck has a weapon what . its 3am not a lot of light so i could not watch there hand movements as good as i would of liked.

if i could of redone this i would step in and help.

I will never second guess you or try to armchair quarterback you in any situation. I was not there and don't really know you so it would be presumptuous to tell you what to do that night.

But, that being said your comment about training tells me that you need to find a new training school. There are a lot of good advanced schools in Michigan, and most all of them do night training. Most of them also do scenario based training, but maybe not the exact one you had.
