What if we have to settle for Permit Carry?

IF they're going to force permits on us, I want something in return.
Doing away with the waiting period (for everyone, not just permit holders) would be a good start.
The Brady Bill requires a waiting period for the general public. Because WI already had the 48 hour DOJ waiting period in effect at the time, we do not have to wait the longer period dictated by the Brady Bill.

I read that merely as a definition as to an out of state permittee....as OOS permittee is mentioned throughout the statute. What I'm looking for is a section that paraphrased reads:

"Recognition.
A valid permit or license issued by another state to any
nonresident of this state shall be considered to be a valid
permit or license to carry weapons issued pursuant to this
chapter"

That is simply not the verbage used. You must go to the chapter which makes it legal to carry and read it carefully... A licensee is a WI resident and a OOS licensee is not a WI resident as defined in the definition which I previously quoted.
175.60 License to carry a concealed weapon.
(2g) CARRYING A CONCEALED WEAPON; POSSESSION AND DISPLAY OF LICENSE
DOCUMENT OR AUTHORIZATION. (a) A licensee or an out−of−state licensee may carry a
concealed weapon anywhere in this state except as provided under ....

Now let's examine the statement in the general description of the bill....
8. Treats a permit, license, approval, or other authorization issued by another state in the same manner as a license issued under this bill if the individual who possesses the authorization submitted to a background check.
This refers to the bill here..... One with an out-of-state license is an out-of-state licensee. By definition they are not a WI resident.
175.60 License to carry a concealed weapon.(1) DEFINITIONS. In this
section(f) “Out−of−state license” means a valid permit, license, approval, or other
authorization issued by another state if all of the following apply:
1. The permit, license, approval, or other authorization is for the carrying of a
concealed weapon.
2. The state is listed in the rule promulgated by the department under s. 165.25
(12) and, if that state does not require a background search for the permit, license,
approval, or authorization, the permit, license, approval, or authorization
designates that the holder chose to submit to a background search.
(g) “Out−of−state licensee” means an individual who is 21 years of age or over,
who is not a Wisconsin resident, and who has been issued an out−of−state license.
