I'll be staying on the Strip for a couple of days and nights next month and I was curious if anyone could provide some basic dos and don'ts for me to keep in mind. I have an AZ CC permission slip which, to my understanding, is honored by Nevada for those times when I so feel like CCing.

Thanks in advance.

You are correct about your permit being honored here. When you're on the Strip, easiest just to conceal going in and out of casinos. They'll hassle you if you open carry. Everywhere else, open carry is a non-issue (aside from the random anti- business). Town Centre or Square or whatever on LV Blvd is anti-OC, FYI. Here's the good part: you can drink while carrying in Nevada!
Also, signs do not have the force of law, so you can walk right past them if you're so inclined.

I humbly offer up NevadaCarry.org for your edification.

Thanks for the info. Can you provide some clarification as to being able to drink while carrying?

There is no law against carrying open or concealed in bar or while drinking, however, it is a crime to be in possession of firearm when one’s blood alcohol content (BAC) is .10 or greater. NRS 202.257

I'm sorry, but I just have to ask: what's the deal with carrying expandable batons and knives in NV and more specifically, Vegas? I am getting a ton of mixed advice online. Most common is batons are illegal altogether and knives need to be 3" or under if they're concealed but size doesn't matter if they are carried openly.

Thanks.

Batons and impact weapons are illegal, though I believe there are exceptions for licensed security or something like that. I will have to find the cite again. I honestly don't know the knife laws. Whatever they are, they don't affect anything I do, and I've never heard of bad enforcement stories to make me want to go find all the local details (they are not covered by state preemption laws).
