Surprised to not see any mention of this case in the Virginia section of this site.

http://caselaw.findlaw.com/us-4th-circuit/1767898.html

The big thing to take away from it "the moment a person exercises that right(to carry) –and has the misfortune to be stopped for a traffic violation or other minor infraction – he opens himself up to being frisked and disarmed, at least temporarily, by law enforcement officers"

These so called judges do great harm to our liberties

I am not a big Trump fan. I am a libertarian after all, but his contention that judges are making decisions based upon personal preferences and not the law is on full display in this case. The finding that citizens that exercise a very clear right to bear arms, are an inherent danger, and therefore forfeit many other rights, destroys the 2nd and 4th amendment in one fell swoop.

If armed = dangerous, then it is only a matter of time before our right to bear arms is effectively destroyed by an over reaching blue line with a black robed backstop.

A warning for anybody who has not yet read the ruling from the so called judges of the 4th circuit - have your barf bag ready. This will make you sick.

Here's the ruling: http://www.ca4.uscourts.gov/Opinions/Published/144902A.P.pdf

See my comment about Surry County's "carry ordinance".

In my opinion this case has nothing to do with a law abiding citizen carrying a weapon... Mr.Robinson is/was a felon in possession of a weapon.

If he were a law abiding citizen there would be no arrest and no case..

When a law abiding citizen is exercising his/her right to keep and bear arms via " open carrying" said citizen is actually alerting the bad guys that said citizen is armed and indeed DANGEROUS. We are letting the bad guys know that we are not to be taken lightly.. We are dangerous, we are LEGALLY DANGEROUS, a major difference than simply being dangerous..

There is nothing in there limiting it to felons or misdemeanors or anything. That leaves it applicable and binding on everything factually and geographically relevant.
