I had a meet up with Lakewood Don today. It went very well today we were at the Starbucks at the Lakewood Town Center. Had a old couple come up to us about are guns and we had a good talk. Afterwards I went to the Safeway to buy some smokes. While I was in line I heard a guy say " that guy has a loaded gun" and went to employee to have them call the police. The Employee told him that open carry was legal in this state and I was doing nothing wrong. I had a chat with the employee we talk about guns for a little bit and I thanked him for knowing the laws. Went I left the store the guy was waiting for me. We said he was going to call the police on me because I was public safety hazard. I calmly tried to explain to him that I was doing nothing wrong. I tried to explain him the laws about open carry but he wouldn't listen. Here somethings he said to me:

I'm a danger to the public and children
This isn't a war zone
I'm not important like Bill Gates to protect myself
I'm not cop.

He then started to yell and point at me yelling "someone call 911 this guy was a loaded gun". I gave up and walked away. I walked back to the Starbucks to get another coffee. There happen to be a Lakewood LEO there. I walked up to him and told him if someone by Safeway flags him down or it comes over the radio a guy with a gun at the Town Center. It was me since I was open carrying. He said " Your not doing anything wrong and I wish more people Open Carried.

I wonder if the cops went over and told that guy to knock it off or they would cite him for false reporting?

Had great day today. Went to my cu today sound credit union in auburn. Some lady saw my oc glock and asked if it was legal to oc. She said she had a permit but didn't know she can oc. Then the teller was A little shaky since she just then noticed my gun. Then some guy that works at the bank came over to hear our conversation thought he was gonna say something negative but rather he shook my hand and invited me out to a meet up. He is also a board member here. Did not get his name. Then took the kids to coulon beach in Renton and one of the life guards had to tell me no firear s allowed on the park or beach. And of course I look like the bad guy with all the parents around so I politely told him preemption law and said if he had any other issues to go ahead and call the police as I was not breaking the law. He just stared me down and went about his job. Several parents felt uncomfortable from what I could see but no problems or police interaction.

Do you think you could post a clip of the video? I'm interested in how it looks/sounds.

Yesterday went to the Walmart in Auburn. At the entrance was a table with a couple of guys trying to collect signatures for a petition against the raising of state taxes.
As I went walking by one of the men pointed at my 1911 and said, "Now thats what I'm talking about!"
I take it he approved.:D
Here is a clip I posted on Kiro 7 face book of a rescue I took part in today.

Watched the Freedom Fair Airshow from the viewing area on Stevens St. RobP came up introduced himself. Also had good conversation with a gentlemen who was interested in open carry, gave him some info and directed him to OCDO. Got my buddy into Oc'ing recently, another one in North Tacoma!

Yesterday the Wife and I went up onto the logging roads above Wilkeson to do some shooting. It was a great day for it. On the way there we OC'd into the Bonney Lake Rite Aid with no issues.
Afterwards we OC'd into Walmart and Home Depot. Or rather, my Wife OC'd in Home Depot as I work there and would probably lose my job if I carried inside.
Upon entering the Walmart an elderly woman approached me and leaned down to my side to squint at my 1911 and said, "Oh, that is a gun! Do you have a permit for it?"
I told her you don't need one to OC in Wa but yes I did have one. I told her my Wife has one as well.
She exclaimed, "Oh, good! You have to protect yourself. My husband and I both had permits."
Probably one of the best encounters I have had.

OC'd the University Place Safeway on the 3rd with no incident. One guy asked about it while I was standing in line and I was able to educate him on the basics of the legalities surrounding OC. No CPL required to OC, but CPL required to carry loaded in a vehicle and/or concealed.

Back from camping at Alder Lake. OCed the whole time, neve had any issues. Talked to the campers next to us, her husband is going to buy her a pistol. She has never shot before. Made some suggestions that she should shoot some at a range and get a feel for what she is comfy with. The last day we were there, we went to the beach again and let the kids swim. Before we left, I changed and strapped my glock on. Went back to the beach to help gather our belongings. Had a few looks, but nothing else. All in all it was a great trip. Hosts, rangers, and Tacoma Power Park Employees smiled and waved when I seen them.

OC'd in the new 7-11 in Lakewood. Clerk inquired if I was carrying because OC is legal in Washington State. Talked a bit, and left out. Then headed to the Picnic in Olympia.

Was a good day to OC today

Started the day off dropping the step daughter off at SeaTac Airport. Afterwords went home for a bit. Drove to Wells Fargo to close my account. The teller was real nice, never said a word nor glanced at my hip even though it was in plain site. Talked to one of the branch managers and he kept glancing at my glock with a nervous look but I acted normal and continued to close my account. We then headed to the Spanaway Walmart to deposit another check into our account at the ACU Branch. No issues in the bank. Cruised Wal Mart, had a few people (LPs) follow me for a bit. Bought a few things and left. Went to Taco Bell, ate dinner and decided to stop by Pawn Exchange. First time me being in the Pawn Exchange off of Pacific and Military RD. Prices are way to high, will never go back in one again. After that it was back home. It was a great day.

Went and got gas at the Albetsons gas station. Walked in and the clerk asked:

Clerk: Is it loaded?
Me: Yes
Clerk: Scary
Me: Why is it scary?
Clerk: shrugged his shoulders.
bystander: You shouldnt carry a gun if you are loaded!
Me: I am not loaded, my glock is
Bystander: Oh.

I told them both to have a nice day and I walked out.

Went to Home Depot to find a Chain fo my chainsaw, they do not carry the chain I needed. As a matter of fact, I cannot seem to find the chain I need for my Homelite super 2 model number 10696c. Its like it does not exhist. I have a 20" bar, the chain measures out at 21" but I am sure it is stretched. Anyways, got a few strange looks, one biker lady did a double take. It was quite funny.

I don't stop in QFC very often, but I did today because it was more convenient. Got a call from Deros that he was out of smokes and whiskey. Did my shopping, produce department, liquor dept, meat dept, chips, dip (no jokes!), went up front and asked for some smokes..... Not a word or strange look.

I guess you could call this my ATF shopping trip. See I told you ATF should be the name of a convenient store!

You can go to just about any chainsaw repair shop and they can make a custom length of chain for your saw. Alternatively, you could purchase a chain rivet punch and rivet press tool so you could make your own chains if you use your saw a lot. I used to have a rivet punch and press but I haven't been able to find it in a few years. I think it may have sprouted legs and walked away...

I saw where someone gave a good suggestion to get one custom made, If you are not open to that expense or going to Homelite to buy replacements all the time and if you do not really need the 20 inch bar, you may want to drop down to an 18" bar as you will have a much easier time finding replacement chains for that locally.
