Sigs are what I learned to shoot on and what I shot my first IDPA match with, the DA/SA transition is awkward but you just have to train and train and train it will eventually come,

Go for it!

Once you have that one, pick up the Sig 1911 Platinum. No other 1911 feels like that does, still don't understand why it fits so well in the hand.

I think I'm going to sell my Sig. I know it's just been a couple months, and it feels like magic in my hand, but because of the DA/SA I always find myself carrying the Glock. The Sig just sits in the safe and looks pretty. Hopefully I can get a decent amount back.

Does anyone know if Sig discontinued the platinum elite? It doesn't show up on their P229 page anymore. http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProductList/pistols-p229.aspx

EDIT: I just answered my own question.

They must have JUST NOW discontinued the platinum elite. Would this effect it's value at all?

Well like all guns, personal preference plays alot into the equation. I went to their website and saw it listed under the discontinued list. I would think that if anything it will increase the value because anyone looking for that specific model won't have the buy-new option. There may still be an inventory of new ones floating around though. Typically I price my used guns one to two hundred less than I bought it for (depending on round count etc) and have had no trouble selling them.

You could always just get a SuperTuck IWB holster and carry the Sig as your BUG. :)

By the time you have to transition to your BUG you won't care about the DA pull. You could also cock the hammer if you have time but I know for a primary gun you want the lighter first pull.

It is a beautiful gun. For my .40S&W Sig P226 I went out and got a .357Sig barrel for it. While I don't shoot either often it is nice to have.
