OK, so I didn't get to stop at QTS on my way up to MD for Christmas the week before the holidays. I drove up on the Friday night that the big snowstorm hit. Needless to say, I hit the snow on I-95 about halfway between Richmond and Woodbridge, and it just got deeper and more slippery the farther north I drove. What is normally a 5.5-6 hour drive ended up taking nearly 11 hours. Sheesh...

But at least Ed's "Guns Save Lives" kept the stereotypical DC-area tailgaters a good 50 feet off my bumper for the ordeal. I had a few idiots come zooming up behind me, slow down, and then back WAY off. I attribute this to those big Orange magnets! Best $6 I ever spent on my car... ;)

Anyway, I did call QTS on Saturday (19 Dec.), and they told me that they didn't carry "Spare parts" for Blackhawk gear. I then had tehm check to see if they had any Coyote Tan Serpa CQC's for my 1911 (I figured at 30% off, I couldn't afford to pass up getting a spare), and they had one left, and a BUNCH of single an double stack Tan mag holders. So I asked them to hold the CQC, and I'd be down to get it the Monday after Christmas when I drove home...

Well, I got it and two Tan single Stack mag holders. I'm planning to get a compact Para LDA soon, and figured I better get the Tan mag holders while they are still available.. And at 30% off, it was a steal...

I OC'd while shopping, and had a nice talk with the staff about my Para, and 1911's in general. When I told them it was a double stack .45, one guy said "WOW! A Double stack .45. Now That's something you don't see often..."

The staff there was VERY friendly and helpful, and answered all my questions. They seemed very knowledgeable about the stuff they sell and had an AMAZING selection of gear--especially Blackhawk holsters and belts, Galco stuff, and I think they carry EVERY piece of clothing that 5-11 makes. It was tidy, orderly, and very well-displayed.

I'd give Quantic Tactical Supply a big A+. They are friendly, have a great selection of gear, and are OC friendly.

If you live in the NoVa area, this place is a MUST-SEE.

While in the area, I also stopped in the Borders on that same exit (Prince William Parkway off I-95), and OC'd there. I bought several magazines (the paper, reading-material kind), and although I got a few odd looks, nobody said anything.

All in all, I had a great trip for the holidays, except for the fact that I can't carry when in MD visiting my stepdaughters and new grand-daughter. But other than that, I had a great holiday!
