SB 256 Concealed Firearms Amendments

SB 256 Concealed Firearm Amendments passed out of the Utah Senate by a vote of 21 to 6 on March 9th and is now headed to the House of Representatives. This bill offers full Commonsense Carry (permitless carry).

We need everyone to immediately contact their indivdual State Representative and ask them to support SB 256. There are only a few days left in the legislative session. A vote could happen quickly, so it is important to act now.

Contact your State Representative and ask him or her to "Support SB 256 Concealed Firearms Amendment."

The USSC spoke at the hearing on this bill earlier this month at the Senate Government Operations and Political Subdivisions Committee. At that time the bill only offered half of what is required to get Commonsense Carry (permitless carry) implemented. Since then Senator Hinkins has amended the bill so that if it becomes law Utah will have Commonsense Carry. This bill will allow the carrying of a concealed firearm with a round in the chamber without a permit.
