Privilege to self defense? We have, "The people have the right to keep and bear arms for security, defense, hunting, recreation or any other lawful purpose."

"the 'Privilege' of self-defense" was language in AB69, AB69-ASA1, AB69-ASA2.

Word from some legislators and staffers reported that is was going to be changed to "the 'right' of self-defense" but that did not happen. In AB69-ASA3 is was just stripped down to "self-defense"

That language is only on the bill itself, it does not transfer into the statutes, so the title of the bill has no final conseqeutial impact. I don't like the fact that this bill did not reflect that is in our RIGHT to self-defense. I really don't. I doubt that Stand Your Ground will be included this time through. Sometime in the future, when 'Stand Your Ground' legislation is introduced, I pray the title of the bill will be The Right of Self-Defense.

Did they make any changes since the last time?

Up For Debate Today...???

In a different thread on a diiferent subject I posted about a conversation I had last night with my Rep. Samantha Kerkman. During our discussion I asked about the Castle Doctine Bill and Stand Your Ground addition to the Bill and I understood her to say that the Castle Doctrine Bill will be debated TODAY. And someyhing about they are looking at a word change regarding / addressing a self denfence shooting in a home after the BG has realized the error of his ways and has surrendered to the home owwner ????? (my words paraphrasing her words)...

Any other verification or knowledge of the debate being today or the change in wording...????

She also felt that "Stand Your Ground" will not be included in the current Bill.

Just got this from my republican senator's staff:

It just crossed my radar that the Castle Doctrine bill is being taken up today by the Assembly Judiciary Committee.

Glenn (senator grothmann) will be on Vicki McKenna's Show today at 11:30 a.m. to discuss a new bill he is working on. - http://www.newstalk1130.com/mediaplayer/

Glenn will also be on Vicki's Madison today at 4 p.m. also - http://www.wiba.com/pages/vicki.html

Edit: The new bill is in regards to counteracting senator lena taylor's BS about boycotting wisconsin businesses.

The link I gave was to the video on the internet. :p Not a live feed.

Not much to report anyways.

Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot to mention that my computer is messed up and I have no audio (sound)... So even if your link was to a video on the internet, regretfully, without audio, an internet video does me no good either...

PS: I suppose one of these days I should get my computer fixed....
