If that's how VCDL executive member Ed Levine dresses for the General Assembly, it must be the last word for making a memorable impression. I'll be sure and emulate.

Good haircut too. :uhoh:

HA! don't let ME dictate your dress.. I was simply saying how I dress.. The KILT crossed my mind too.. but decided against it..

I will (likely) go against the grain here and say that what you show up dressed in (unless its on the extreme and/or absurd side; ex a cow costume with utters) that showing up is better than missing it because anyone/others want you so show up dressed and wearing certain attire.

If someone showed up in worn scrubs and a t-shirt should it matter? I don't think so, to me what matter is what side they are on and how they will vote.

If the pro-gun side starts to pressure, submit guidelines or similar its people (aka supporters) then we are only hurting the cause that we have in common. If someone cannot figure out that a cow suit with outward utters in inappropriate to wear for gun related legislation, then I'm confident they are not pro-gun and are likely PETA or Liberal supporters.

If the legislatures don't take people showing up in support of their issue regardless of their non-absurd dress, then they are only hurting themselves (and likely the cause they say they support) as people who take time to show up are HIGHLY likely to show up on election day.

Just putting out a different viewpoint on the issue

Jero, I hope you and the Missus attend and I would like to see Mr. and Mrs. jmelvin, also if they can make it. I have an affinity for you folks, and despite my threats, I have not been to Balcony Falls in over two years to fish and to visit with y'all.

Wear whatever the hell you want. Everyone just please show up. With all the political rhetoric being thrown around, numbers do mean somethin'. I will never forget my first year when we had hundreds of GSL stickers and the antis had about ten people show up. I have to believe this means something and has an effect.

As previously stated on the thread, I am "on call" for construction inspections on Monday. Did not take a vacation day and with localities closed, some of my clients may need my services.

Despite that, I will be wearing dress pants and my work boots. I usually try to dress warmly enough with some kind of sweater in order to exhibit OC.

I think this year I will wear dress shirt (if I still have one with a collar that is big enough) , tie, sweater, and hope I don't get called out to a job site.

Look forward to seeing everyone.

parents ?

the wife (7 months pregnant) and I will be there, as will my parents.

I WISH I could be joined with MY parents on some kind of political rally, but they both being leftists would never agree. Once, in a strained discussion with my dad, he said "well, at least we have the same values." I had to correct him and say "Dad, I don't think that's a true statement about us." It was a pretty sad moment in my life, to have to admit that. I pray this does not happen with my own kids.

Builtjeep, count yourself blessed to be united in a cause with your own parents.

I can't remember... do the entry guards take issue with pocket knives? I usually carry one clipped on to my pocket.

Last I remember, there was no searching, just walking thru the detector with a loud beep and on in.

Never to my knowledge been an issue - I always carry one in the same fashion.

I'll be heading down from Sterling/NOVA area with a friend/photographer at 0430hrs. I still have 2 (or 3 if someone doesn't mind the middle rear) seats left if anyone is interested. PM me if interested.

Free ride from PWC

I have decided to drive down Richmond and join everyone for lobby day. I can seat 3 other people in comfort and speed. The only catch is my car is a smokers car (windows down). If you don't smoke (smart move BTW) then you won't be comfortable and I would suggest not asking me for a ride.

I posted this earlier but I think it's gotten lost.

I am leaving from Lorton around 5:30a tomorrow morning. I have 2 people in my car and can fit one more if someone needs a ride. If anyone would like to caravan with us you are welcome to meet us at the Caribou Coffee on Lorton Market Street in Lorton, VA. Message me if you're interested.

 This is my first year and I'm really looking forward to it. :monkey:

Thanks!

Carpooling

Ill be there. Heading up Sunday to get a good days relaxation. Staying at a hotel.

Carpoolees are welcome, and no charge to bunk at the hotel. I just ask for gas contribution.

Max capacity of 3 Passengers if I take Jetta... 5 last time was uncomfortable for all parties plus it was way too early picking everyone up..
May take burb if I get all the kinks worked out by then.

I know a carpool thread will be coming but figured id put this out there. Coming from Chesapeake, Va up 64, maybe 460 if im needed for a ride.

Edit- Should I start a carpool thread?

I live in va beach, if you're willing I could shoot over to chesapeake and hitch a ride with you up there. I don't know what time you're leaving but I know I have to be back to my truck by at least 4:30 p.m. Please let me know I don't want to drive my truck up there but I really want to participate.

Good dinner with good people and great conversation. While only some of the problems of the world were solved I enjoyed being there and meeting some new folks.

See you all in the morning.

stay safe.
