"Jon" Bonavia

"941.295(4) In this section, “electric weapon” means any device which is designed, redesigned, used or intended to be used, offensively or defensively, to immobilize or incapacitate persons by the use of electric current." Intent of whom, the design engineer or the gang-banger that purchased it, maybe putting a pistol grip on it, his redesign? What's your professional background?

Oh, sorry, MD.

What's yours? Maybe I'm a nuclear engineer or something! For you to find out.

I just spoke on the phone with Jeri Bonavia. Not too surprisingly she has no idea who you are, but as far as she knows you're neither with WAVE nor a member of the Bonavia family. She's not particularly pleased that someone would come on here pretending to be associated with her group. This is one time I will believe what Jeri Bonavia says.

Nice try, thanks for playing.... we have some lovely parting gifts for you.

He does not claim to be related to Jeri Bonavia, not does he claim to be a member of WAVE. That was a presumption on the part of a few members here. I wondered about the wisdom of making that presumption.

Again, let's focus on the actual behavior and not on speculation. What he has done so far amounts to RAS that he is up to no good, but not PC, and certainly not proof beyond a reasonable doubt, to use a metaphor with which most of us have familiarity.

I am sure he is receiving the scrutiny he warrants.

Not familiar w/ terms used

When Dallas (TX) implemented the civilian review board for the PD, they predicted a cataclysm, which didn't materialize. A bad shoot is a bad shoot.

Shooting someone who is unarmed, even if s/he is standing and lunging for an officer's weapon, is a gross overreaction. If I did the same, it might be justified to stop an ongoing threat, but I do pay the PD to take certain risks not expected of individual citizens. LEO's should be better trained and better prepared than me to handle difficult situations. They should handle them differently than I would, and if an officer is too afraid to practice this kind of restraint, then LE is probably the wrong job.

New and not up to speed I suppose. What is WAVE? Might be something I want to know? As for the above statement, If I lose my weapon I may well be shot or killed with it, sooo if you try to take it..it's only fair that you should take that samr risk. Superman doesn't have to work for LE, he gets by alright. Training is important but I can't possibly train to repel every murderous intent visited on me, why do you support guns anyway? Just train more seems to be your answer!

Claim? No, just implies. Profile says "gun control activist" "Milwaukee" "Bonavia" Birthday on April Fool's Day, nice touch.

I simply cleared up any misconceptions that this may be someone actually connected to Jeri Bonavia or WAVE--- always good to find out the truth rather than to proceed with erroneous notions.

"a taser would seem the right tool for the job"

Lethal threat is dealt with lethal force generally. Here is what happens sometimes when LE tries "to be nice".

4 officers vs 1 man with knife.

The 21 ft rule is a bare minimum number.
I watched the video, another situation where a Taser should have been used. There were 4 cops there, 1 0r 2 could have used a Taser while the others had their pistols drawn just in case. I'm sick of seeing Tasers used to calm unarmed people down when the police should be using their pack mentality to cooperatively subdue the subject.

Doctor John is Ms. Bonavia's divorced husband. Or did Auric spell out Jon to make sure that Ms. Bonavia knew who he was talking about. Ms. Bonavia/WAVE were invited weeks ago to read here and that wasn't mentioned either? Auric's rap sheet is the shortest of the ones we researched.

You are blinded by your prejudices. Jon is dead. Long live John.

Case in point. This is not the post of a person who wishes to enter into rational discussion. This is a post designed to cause trouble.

I guess they didn't research it very well! hahaha!

I did a search on my full name and according to that site, I have no background. So either I don't exist or maybe, just maybe, I have no criminal history.

From http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1G1-180898642.html

Sounds like a soccer mom who had too much time on her hands.

Quote:

"Bonavia founded the Milwaukee-based Wisconsin Anti-Violence Effort in 1995 after her then 5-year-old daughter issued a plaintive request: "So many kids are being killed by guns," Bonavia recalls her daughter saying. "Fix it."

"I just couldn't shake the fact that when I was 5 I was worried about getting a Barbie doll," Bonavia says."

We know - "its for the children."

Wonder if they had a swimming pool in their back yard?
