The Empress wanted a new shower head. Off we went to Home Depot at Harrison Crossing. She found one she liked and we went to the checkout. All they had open were the self-checkouts. There was a young lady stationed there to help out. As I was checking out, I heard the checkout lady say something to my wife. My wife replied "He always open carries." They continued their conversation, I could hear the checkout lady asking about legality, permits, etc.. When I had finished checking out, I joined in. My wife and I answered her questions. I gave her a VCDL Carry Card and pointed out the web address. I also told her about the OCDO website.
We took our purchase back to the car. We were in the car and getting ready to pull out when a gentleman, with some Home Depot stuff in his arms, came by the car window and gestured he wanted to talk. I rolled the window down and he asked about my hat (any particular reason for wearing it, etc.) I explained why I wear it. He then said he also noticed I was OCing. He thanked me for exercising my 2nd amendment right. Wife and I thanked him for his support. Everybody went on their way.
