Oh, I'm sorry....

The manager I talked to at the Englewood store, tried a couple of times to contact corporate about this. He himself finally gave up... He told me to carry on the way I was going. I did let him listen to the audio file I downloaded about the voicemail someone got from corporate and he was fine with that...

So I guess technically nothing was really resolved.

Buddy of mine has open carried in a Wal Mart at least a half dozen times. This was across two different locations. I myself have open carried in one that was different from those. In fact, it was the one in Oregon, OH. I've also open carried at a Sam's Club. Sam Walton's places are corporate decided to NOT post. And since nothing in the law designates it automatically, I'm not sure why there's any question.

There's always a question with Wal-Mart.

Even with what appears to be a Corporate Policy, their managers and employees sure don't seem to know it.

There have been MANY...threads on several different Websites, about the abuse Wal-mart employees hand out to law abiding citizens who carry, both OC and CC.Wal-Mart has a serious communication problem with their stores..

Which is why if you're a victim of such, you get corporate involved. Would not be the first time some lone manager got swatted by his own superiors. To simply yield is to allow one lone manager to violate both the property rights of the owner and the right to life of every visitor.

Reread my post Derm.. I did get the manager involved, in fact the manager was the one who said "He" would contact corporate. When they didn't get back to one of thier onw people, he listened to the audio tape I had from corporate and told me to go ahead and carry. As far as he is concerned, the audio tape was enough for him.

I was referring to the generalization that it's always a question with them and that people are regularly hassled there. I was letting others know that there is no question and that if they get such hassle, let corporate know so they can put the rogue location in check for all of our benefit.

As for your location in particular, was it ever posted with a sign? If so, did that sign come down?

Ah okay, I understand now.

No the the store has never been posted. The time I was asked about it, an employee noticed and contacted the manager.

I live in Englewood and I just got my first weapon to carry yesturday. I have a 357 that was to big to carry, so I bought a 380 with holster. I am going to go ouit a few times and try carrying it and see what the reaction is.

Well DM, we should get together and OC . Let the City know there is more then just me doing this...The mayor and the city council have a real anti-gun thing going. One councilman even rolled his eyes up at me at the last council meeting when I told them about the Party in the Park that the OFCC held on Sept 29th.

This councilman thought I was joking, until I showed them the picture of Ohio's governor...Ted Strickland and myself standing in a city park in Powell Ohio, shaking hands and my Beretta 92FS in full view on my right hip.

Lets get together and talk about how to further our cause..

DM, in theory we have monthly meetups at the Golden Corral in Middletown, I-75 exit #32. We tentatively meet on the fourth thursday of every month at about 5pm. However the last couple of months it's been like oner person, or nobody, sad to report. And fwiw I believe that a GC manager told Lthrnck that they didn't allow firearms carry, as he had expressed a desire to OC at the restaurant.(Most of us had up til then been doing the CC thing so they had no idea I suppose.) Anyhow, I'll attempt to posta link to the Open Carry Ohio forum board site, let's see if it works here, I'm no Al Gore when it comes to the Internet ya know...

http://ocohio.myfreeforum.org should be it,I think.

Gonna try again next month..

But in the mean time, let's you and I and your son get together here in Englewood. Maybe we could just meet at the McDonald's on Union and National Rd. for a burger.
