I say we start pressuring the library board to put it on the meeting agenda and discuss it in January. If they fail to take appropriate action to correct this infringement and violation of state law, then we organize a protest (not on a public board like this one) and surprise them one day with media in tow. Any party who wishes can then sue them.

How do you do that and still get the word out so that more than 2 attend? I for one only log in if I have something to post. I attended the the last 2 library protest and board meetings because they were posted here.
PMs (private messages) and the accompanying word of mouth are not publicly seen/known.

Just got this today:

I have refrained from posting the majority of correspondence on here as at one point there was a lot of chatter from well meaning folks that was distracting from the actual work. If I do post a response on this forum, and you feel it is inadequate , or lacking notice I have posted the contact info and you are more than welcome to show me how it is done.

It is interesting that the state of NV is ranked one of the lowest, grade F, by The Center for Integrity, when it comes to ethics. One of the factors is Public Access to Information, ranking 46th among the states, receiving a letter grade of F.

I found this to be true when trying to get info out of the City of Henderson. They do everything they can to run up the cost so you no longer ask for info.

If we are within our RIGHTS and have the LAW on OUR SIDE, why do we have to be Secretive ?

When pushed on facebook why the nvfac has not helped this was turners response. Don Turner NVFAC does not post its actions and plans on blogs or other social media, until after the issue is finalized or if we need massive public support.

My response to that. So far though the tactics seem to be nil. We need massive support now.Why has no one from the group shown up to the library board meetings? Why no letters? Why so secret? The law is plainly on our side. It gets VERY OLD to keep seeing this call for money and volunteers from the nvfac. Just a reminder. Henderson city got in line without any help from the nvfac. The DMV did the same. We asked for help on those items and none was given. I expect the same thing here as well. We the citizens will fix it without any help from any org.

And now Turner is claiming the city of Henderson came in line because of a law the nvfac got passed and the secret work he did. If you recall thebigguy did all that work based on the 2007 law before the nvfac was around. So they couldn't have been behind the law.

Do you have a source for that? I'd like to be able to share it with an NVFAC guy that keeps trying to recruit [strike]me[/strike] my money.

Yea, there's no question Tim was the guy that got all that done, combined with a cooperative Henderson government. Turner and Co have blown a lot of smoke. I think they are making it by burning membership dues.

I don't see any obvious reason to not do so.

Once you've sent your response, why keep it quiet? Are you afraid of criticism, or just why?

There is nothing preventing you from writing a "most brilliant" response, and posting it here... Should you think it is a good idea.
Wow. Inelegant dodge of a simple question!

That's right. Far be it for me to dare intrude!

I'm just sitting here wondering when I can offer a hearty "Congratulations!".

Evidently it's gonna be awhile...

Pointy end and slightly to the left
Often appears to be a talent of many here to give out advice after an action has been taken. Much easier to say and post here what you should have done than to take action themselves.
Few have the talent to take action and thanks to those that do. Many have the talent to and do, to comment on how it should have been done after the fact.

Hindsight, while benefiting from more information, can be tainted with the residue from the location from which it originated. Some cramping may accompany.

Boots on the ground headed towards the sound of the [strike]gunfire[/strike] problem will get better results than those reading the after action reports.

IMO - we work well as a team. Some step to the front, volunteer. Others analyze and suggest from a distance. We want the same things(s) but have different ways of contributing.

sorry, if you review the advice given by one of your own NV members and the, oh five lambasted comments from other NV members...

forward progress in even developing any type of a concerted plan has moved how far?

but wait, the NV grassroots folk don't want to acknowledge nor assist with the issue?

and...

yes, we all contribute in our own ways 28, and i can sleep at night knowing i did offer, which is more than some but sometimes it falls on deaf ears due to numerous perceptions from ego, etc., and when it does...you get what is going on at the moment...

my sentiments expressed are still bearing fruit as to why the national effort shall fall significantly short...

btw, how did the other (FB) NV goat rope work for you...
