Just because it is rather quiet around here these days...

An older guy at Sam's Club asked me, "What's with the (points to my oc)". I simply told him, "It's legal in NV to open carry. No license needed and no ******** government approval". He said he saw someone else carrying in Walmart next door earlier that day and was just wondering. I told him that while I could carry concealed, open is more comfortable, faster to get to it should need be and it let's bad guys know I'm no easy target. He said, "I should think not" and smiled and that was it.

They were an older couple that looked of money. And they did not seem one bit afraid of this guy with a gun. Thumbs up!

While pumping gas today I was thanked for execising my 2A right and open carrying.
Gentelman asked if I knew about NV Carry or Nv open carry? I forget exactly because I thought he meant this site. Said he was an administrator.
Anyway...kind of cool to be acknowledged.

BTW..No problems with OC today North Vegas and Las Vegas areas.

While walking from my vehicle to Carl's Jr. off of Marks St. in Henderson I hear a guy yell out "hey pal" so I turn around and a guy in his 50's or so flips me the middle finger and tells me to go f@&k myself. It actually caught me totally off guard as nobody has ever done this simply because I was carrying my firearm. Another customer heard and saw him as well and couldn't believe it. The guy just walked away and smiled while flipping me off. I had no idea how to respond so I didn't even bother. I went in and enjoyed my lunch. I guess he was a real anti gunner.

How did he dress? I would probably guess mentally ill more likely.

so any aberration of behaviour by an individual, in your humble and educated perspective, labels them mentally ill?

nice perspective...

turborich, it is unfortunate there are those who must use sign language to convey their message, just glad the individual didn't get up front and personal and continue the conversation...

Well, it is certainly not mentally normal to profanely pick a fight with someone carrying a firearm...

Profane is the vain use of the Lord's Name. Obscene refers to a bodily function. Vulgarity is a common dysphemism. These are the pathetic swearings.

A middle finger salute is hardly instigation to conflict except with a fellow mental defective, armed or not.

I will bet that there was a motorcycle involved.
As a motorcycle rider i must ask why you are assuming a "motorcycle was involved"?

LOL, no motorcycle involved. Just some pissed off guy walking through the shopping center. He was dressed like somebody would expect. Nothing out of the ordinary. Oh well, what are ya gonna do?

WTF? Why are these out of staters constantly coming in here and trolling us?

Well handled Rich. And knowing Vegas like us the locals do, mental illness is a strong possibility.

Yea, it's a shame people don't know how to act. Typically I try and think that they just don't know any better. And then sometimes, like your experience, I'm reminded that there are just some buttholes in the world that as Mac says, are so stupid as to pick a conflict with an armed person. What if the armed person were as equally stupid? Just a bad idea. But you'd have to NOT be stupid to know that.

So, chalk it up to "people stupid". And well handled.

And Mac, you were not wrong. I can google search definitions too and found this for you from Merriam-Webster.com:

Profane: to debase by a wrong, unworthy, or vulgar use

Don't we all just love language lessons on-line...lol

uja7yui_9699.jpg

The conversation went like this:

Her: What kind of gun you got?
Me: P226
Her: What is that?
Me: Sig Saur
Her: What's that a BB gun?
Me: nope, just a gun gun
Her: I'm from LA and they'd lock you up in prison for that.
Me: Welcome to Nevada
Her: They're really behind the times here in Reno
Me: Have a nice day

Metro cop shop open carry

Anyone tried open carry in the police stations since the State Preemption law was changed to give it more teeth? I have not been there since, but just saw a live newscast out front of Metro HQ and the "no weapons" sign is still being displayed on the front doors. ?????

Not at the Cop Shop, but Churchill county offices like tax assessor and such, they've removed the "No Weapons" signs and replaced with "No Concealed Carry". Baby steps.

This weekend standing in the checkout line at Wal-Mart a young lady behind us say excuse me and I said yes. My daughter has a question for you. I said ok no problem. The little girl asks why do you carry a gun? I said in Nevada it is legal for a person that can legally have a gun to carry. I won’t go into detail of the whole conversation. Basically assuring her people that legally carry are the good guys. Her mom agrees and says I know I feel safer with him and his gun here. The little girl’s name was Skylar and she is 10 years old. She shook my hand I told her I was glad she asked and thanked her mom for doing a good job of parenting.
