Oh you really got away with one there!

Do you have anything to add here? All of your posts seem very troll like. And yes he may have in a sense got away with it. Based on the over reach of the TSA and how they have responded to non threats in the past.

Not sure how you would have come to that possible conclusion. If I were not interested in hearing about your open carry experience, I would not have started this thread OC how did it go over two years ago with over 112,302 views.
By the statement in you posting “they haven't said anything to me yet.” Led me to believe you were not aware of PTs agreeing to be gun friendly. It was my intent to update you and others who may not have been aware of PTs informing OC.org of being a gun friendly business.

I'm sorry, you said "Old news" So I thought you were dismissing my experience. I remember reading about the guy that continued to have problems at PT's, so naturally I assume the policy wasn't widely distributed throughout the company. I said "They haven't said anything to me yet" because I was typing that from my phone at the bar. Just because PT's as a company agrees to follow state law doesn't mean that some of their employees agree. Hell, look at my experience at walmart.

To answer your question ljpierce_NV about my walmart experience I haven't followed up. I had some ****** things come up since then and I had to put it on the back burner. I figure it's been so long now it isn't worth it anymore.

So Friday, I pop in to the US Bank located in the Smith's at Tropicana and Jones to make a deposit. I've been banking at this branch since I moved back to Vegas in 2010. As usual, I was OCing, as was my son who also needed to make a deposit. Over the years, I've had no issues with my OC at this location, and in fact have had several positive conversations with the tellers and a previous branch manager there regarding my carry.

Although I've been OCing a long time, my son is very new to OC. While waiting in line he quietly asks me a question about carrying which is overheard by the two individuals standing in line behind us. This prompts a (positive) conversation about carrying and CCW permits, during which I am asked if I am ever hassled about OCing. I tell them that I have only had one significant incident over the many years of carrying, and at this point I believe the conversation caught the attention of the tellers, as we are now at the front of the line.

I step up to the next teller and proceed to start my deposit. A moment later my son is able to approach the adjacent teller station manned by the Branch Manager, Ryan. As my son starts walking the branch manager calls out to me quite loudly that carrying firearms are prohibited in all US Bank branches, and asks both of us not to return next time while carrying. I have a brief conversation with him explaining that I switched to US Bank precisely because US Bank welcomed my OC after closing my Bank of America accounts after more than 20 years for their anti firearm stance. Though polite, he held firm that their policy was strictly no firearms allowed. I obtained his card, and let him know I'd be contacting US Bank corporate.

Pretty standard encounter so far, right? I think most of us have encountered this a time or 2, but now it gets fun...

I arrive home shortly thereafter, and roughly 20 minutes later I receive a phone call from US Bank. This gentleman states his first name (which I promptly forget) from US Bank corporate security, and is calling me to ensure that I cease carrying at US Bank. After relaying the same information that I gave to the branch manager, he became...irritated? fussy? I'm not sure that accurately describes his demeanor. (peeved perhaps? I need a thesaurus!) Once I informed him that I would be contacting corporate, requesting his full name and title he became outright rude and refused to give me his first name, stating "...you can call me Mr. Siess", and then effectively threatened to close my accounts immediately. His title is Assistant VP, Regional Manager of Corporate Security.

Needless to say, I'll be writing that letter to US Bank corporate later today. Will post when I hear back!

Texting is the worst kind of communication to easy to misunderstand. So once again, I exercise my weak ability to compose a meaningfully text. Old news was referring to my attempt to update others on the the past PTs agreement. Glad to see PTs still OC friendly.
Your Wal-Mart experience was more than likely a one-man show in other words a lone befuddled employee. With Wal-Marts turnover, more than likely never happen again however needed to keep this negative experience in the memory in case this comes up again, if so we can pounce on the issue.

So Friday, I pop in to the US Bank ...

I was in a branch of Bank of the West last week. I personally met the manager who knew him by name. My friend has been banking there forever. Not only does he absolutely not have a problem with our OC, but there was no line, and all the tellers were middle-aged women who all knew my friend by name, as well.

Even though I have not been hassled in Chase bank or Wells Fargo local branches, I have never been quite happy with their fees and national corporate structure (and likely corporate policies that would support any manager that went anti-gun. In short, I've been always on the lookout for a local bank that made me feel like a Nevadan again.

I will be moving all my accounts to Bank of the West.

If you go to the branch on Sahara/Rancho, tell the manager Manny that I sent you. I have a feeling he's going to start meeting a lot of us.

Although I have oc'd in at least 2 Wells Fargo Banks and one Chase Bank with no problems whatsoever, I am a fan of neither. Mostly because I remember a time when banks welcomed your business and didn't charge you for it.

I recently oc'd in:

an NPS (pool supply) store in NW Vegas by Centennial Walmart. No issues.

an Olive Garden in Summerlin. No issues.

Per usual, if anything, I get quicker service.

Oh, and family from out of town wanted to go to Costco. We walked up to the entrance and I saw the "No Firearms" sign. I told the fam, "I'll be waiting for ya in the car when you're done." They said, "Can't you just leave it in the car and come in without it?" I replied, "Not at Costco. They kill people here and I won't come in unarmed. See ya when you're done."

While I have mostly tried to not make folks I'm out with uncomfortable, I'm swaying the other way more and more and "carrying first / worrying about feelings later". I mean truth be told, if I can't convince my friends and fam to support 2A how am I to expect to make any difference with complete strangers, right.

-thanx

I've never had a problem at Chase and I'm glad to know Bankof the west is OC friendly as I do a bit of buisness there but have always concealed.

Actually, the truth be told, it is easier to convince total strangers than those that are close to you. That simply is the way it is...TBG

I think you're right. You've convinced me.

-Stranger

Yes, i'm making a funny, but I also do think you're right TBG. Just like how we tend to be nicer to strangers than to the ones closest to us. Strang...er yet.

Couldn't agree more. I haven't had the opportunity yet to do it here in the Reno area but I know I'm going to have a ruckus with my own mom if she comes up here and finds me packin' heat.

She's been brainwashed by the Kalifornia libtards to believe that OC is too much like the old west. Oh well, either way, it will be interesting when/if it happens.

Don't worry about issues at Olive Garden, they sent me an email stating they follow state laws. You're never going to have an issue with them!

First post on OCDO today. Been OC for about two years now. I'm 30, white, 275 husky and bearded, tattooed arms and legs. I almost exclusively wear shorts and a tee outside of my work clothes. Normal carry firearm is an all black SA XDM 45 4.5" with spare mag in my pocket. My preferred carry position is at about 4 o'clock. I usually wear a lvl2 (BladeTech WRS DOH with teklok in Carbon) holster but decided to go with the lvl 1 factory holster that came with it. Live in Chinatown in Las Vegas.

Today I went to:

Sam Woo BBQ on Spring Mountain and Wynn
American Worker on Sahara and Torrey Pines
JC Penny and Victorias Secret (for the wife) and Meadows Mall
7-Eleven on Oakey and Decatur
TJ Maxx on Sahara and Decatur (again for the wife)
Walgreens on Tropicana and Decatur

Getting out to get food at Sam Woo and elderly Asian woman did a double-take and actually spun to watch me walk past her after I said "Hello ma'am"

American Worker employees all helped a lot and even helped me find a new 2" belt in my size.

Walking around MM was stressful. I usually try to avoid malls because the on-site security staff. Today I followed the wife right in the JCP door which I thoroughly examined for GFZ signs. We went in to find her a bathing suit. shopped there for about 45 minutes. Left there and we went to VS so she could get some stuff I could be happy with. Like all real men I stayed outside the store. I saw several security staff, 1 LVMPD officer and a CBP officer. I was confused about the last one but whatever. I don't think a one of them noticed me though there were several people that got BIG eyes when they looked at my hip. I tried to acknowledge each of them respectfully so they would get a quick impression of a non-hostile. I am fairly southern and have a slight drawl when I talk. I would say "Hello Sir" and "Hello Ma'am" to each person who looked at it. We both went to the restroom after an hour waiting outside VS. So roughly 2 hours and no screaming or LEO stops. On the way out I examined a main entrance/exit to the mall and found no signs at all relating to firearms anywhere. I definitely spent my time looking.

7-11 had a couple customers in line who thought it was interesting enough to talk about, but not say anything to me.

TJ Maxx I was fairly well ignored except for some little boy who just stared at me like I was in a Superman cape.

Walgreens I was ignored too.

This could be one of my least eventful carry days if it weren't for the lady spinning around, mouth agape as I walked by.

Welcome to OCDO! Thanks for sharing your experiences! I purposely do NOT look for signs, unless it is a government building.

NV OC - how did it go?

The CiCis on Cheyenne/15 is friendly as well... The employees there know us as "the family with guns". I doubt you'll have issues with any CiCis...
