Actually you deflected the question quite politically.
I answered with a statement that was my message to offer. Apologies if I didn't provide a link, I had assumed that if someone wanted to know more about Duty to Rescue, they would have Googled it themselves.
Honestly, if you come across a word you're not familiar with, do you look it up or do you pretend to know its meaning? Actually, based on your posts, you did neither. The message of the post was completely transparent because you suddenly had an agenda.
Later in this topic I expanded on the fact that it was the intent of the law that I favored (since obvious agendas were clouding that message). I don't have a problem clarifying statements made (which is exactly what I did), what I do have a problem with is feeble attempts to railroad my comments to fit your ugly picture.
Your supposition implied the very insulting notion that the average American was inclined to ignore a victim and the average German was inclined to help. How did you respond to my legitimate question? With vicious and ridiculous accusations. It was a simple question, viorel, and you pawned the question off again. While I was looking for a competent, fruitful dialog--you were apparently more concerned with going on the defense and saving face.
I expanded and clarified my point. I believe even enough to answer your non-question, yet here you are splitting hairs because I didn't participate in your "anti" campaign.
It's funny. If I had mentioned Amsterdam in a topic concerning marijuana, responses would have been "Hell yeah, Amsterdam rocks dude!". Is that being anti-American or is that someone favoring a law in another country that fits their individual beliefs?
Honestly, do I need to link the Switzerland topic?
As for the issue of the law, perhaps SOME Americans are hesitant to get involved with victims for fear of ridiculous lawsuits. Here in America, we don't need a nanny-state. Do we really need to legislate every single moral law? Just because this isolated event happened, does not mean that this is a persistent problem nation-wide.
Thank you for finally seeing the message for what it is, not what you wanted it to be.
You do bring up a good point here. Note that I never once mentioned providing medical assistance. To be honest, I would be torn (as many others no doubt) to provide first aid simply because of lawsuits. What I was suggesting is nothing more than contacting first responders.
