The NRA-ILA entered into a contract wherein the Silverton removed their prohibition on carrying firearms. To the best of my knowledge, "open carry" was not specifically addressed.
Maybe the best advice, if you wish to open carry, is to do so only from the parking lot to the event room (and avoid the casino and other areas.)
We must remember that although the Silverton removed their "prohibition," it is still private property.
I learned:
The NFC [http://www.nvfac.org/] supports the open carry issue. The Silverton Casino agreed to open carry for the Nov 19 event.
Unfortunately, the Silverton has apparently backed out of the contract and agreement to allow OC.At the monthly Open Carry luncheon today (sorry if you missed it), Don Turner, President, of the newly formed NV Firearms Coalition, assured those of us in attendance that NRA/ILA was working on the issue of firearms carry at the event. He said that if the Silverton will not allow us to carry on its property, the event would be moved. It was a pleasure meeting the representatives of the Coalition, and I urge all to join the group and then do your part to make sure The Coalition genuinely supports the goals of its membership. An organization is only as good as the membership makes it.
There was some very good ideas kicked around today. I also urge you to get behind the proposed steering committee here in Clark County. Even those in other areas of the state need to realize that what happens here with regard to fighting such things as the Blue Card Registration and forcing local authorities to follow state law is important to the whole firearms community throughout Nevada.

According to the Nevada Firearms Coalition President Don Turner “Hundreds of thousands of Nevada citizens, including 47% of Clark County residents, are lawful gun owners; the Nevada Firearms Coalition was formed to give us a voice. The Silverton Casino claimed they were gun owner friendly, they are not, so we are taking our event and our business elsewhere.”
