All I can say is that Joseph Smith must have been the original "Iron Man" (no pun intended). Most of us have trouble with one wife at a time. He must have been really "special" to be able to "survive" 34 of them.

I love this comment. Ever wonder where the second sentence in Article 1 Section 24 of the Washington State Constitution came from??:rolleyes:

He wasn't the only one with a "Militia" at the time. The Railroads, Cattle Barons, and just about anyone west of the Mississippi that had enough money had a "militia" of sorts. Sometimes they were just "posse's" with names like "Regulators" such as Lincoln Co New Mexico. Anyone who gave them food, booze, and bed considered them their own "armed body of men". Yup. That's exactly where the second sentence came from.

Of course one could make the argument today that these old entities have just been replaced by "Police Departments".
