Moving to Mooresville, North Carolina

Hey Guys! Well my job has transferred me from South Carolinato Mooresville, North Carolina. Does anyone know of any good places to go shooting up there? And also does anyone know ofany good instructors in the area for CHP? I appreciate all of your help.

You can try Statesville, but I shoot at the range in Matthews at Firepower. They are pretty good people and also have a CCW class a couple times a month for $120.

Hey, Chuck! Again, welcome to NC. I used to live in the area, but it's been 15 years .... Hopefully somebody in or around Raleigh can chime in with some specifics, but I know there are a few good gun stores nearby. Grab the yellow pages when you get settled in and make the rounds. Every gun shop I've ever been in has the low down on local instructors for ccw classes. In NC, it can be a bit of a PITA....Class, range, Dr's note, mental hlth cert, forms, $$, wait period.....anyway, it was worth it I guess. At least we CAN carry in this state!:lol:

Firepower is my range as well. i have a few CC class contacts, one of which will cost $100, buthe's in union county. About 30 to 45 minutes from you. The other guys are 120 in firepower and 150 in Hyatt gun shop (the price goes up the closer you are to the city center). If you wnat to try Firepower some time, I go duringlunch Wed and Thurs. just look for the guy with the cross draw holster packin the.40

Hey guys, thanks for all of your help. Sorry about the late reply, my wife and I just got our Internet service set up. As soon as I get all settled, I'll be checking out the local ranges. Working in the restaurant business sure keeps ya busy. Again thanks for all of your help!

Did you ever find a local range, as I live out the in the country of mid eastern Iredell county. I live alone now days, and I get jumpy not to mention there are no street lights here and I have rapid critters that run wild in thse parts. But before I get a gun I need to get a little bit of practice in so I feel secure with it and myself. thank you ,

I found one in Statesville called "Shooters". It's way out in the county, but they are really good about prices and they have a pretty good range. If you would like the number, send me a private message.

Chuck.......Mooresville is a nice place to live. Hey if you ever need an FFL to do a transfer for you, be sure to look up Mooresville Jewelry & Loan on Main Street. Kathy does FFL transfers for $10!!!! I do all of my FFL business with her
