Memorial Day Weekend Meet

Hi guys! As I posted in a previous thread, my family and I are looking to move to the western side of the state in a couple years. This memorial day weekend, my husband and I will be headed out to check out the area, so I figured that I would see if anyone wanted to meet up and have coffee, lunch, a chat, whatever, while we were out there. We'll be passing through Jackson, Alpine, etc, and then will be staying in Evanston for a couple of days. Anyone up for it?

I live appx 390 miles east of Evanston so unfortunately I will not be able to join you.

Seems that a good majority of the WY OC crowd are to the east. Guess we'll have to get other people into it once we move over!

Hello 38or45 Glad to hear you're planning a tripto our Wonderful State of Wyoming this holiday Weekend. You could nothave picked a better time to visit. Youmentioned passing through Alpine and Jackson. If you can anyway find it possible to take adetour, I STRONGLY recommend that you visit Riverton on the Memorial Dayweekend. I think it would be well worth your time. They have an Annual Gun Show that is, in myopinion, the best gun show in this state and quite possible the region! It is held in the County Fairgrounds buildings. Yes, buildings. They have so many vendors they need to use two buildings, and they are largebuildings, I'm talking 13,400 SF for the big building and 9,200 SF for"small" building! Of course, they don't have all guns at theshow. They have other stuff too, like other shows... knives, some antlers& horns, scopes, girlie stuff, some antique watches & coins, and thelike. It is just a really great gun show.

From Jackson, go North on US-26 towards Yellowstone National Park. Stay on US-26 all the way to Riverton. Go through town. You will come to a “T-Intersection”. Turn right, towards Lander. They are doing some construction on thatstreet and near the end of the construction, on the right is the Fremont CountyFairgrounds, where the gun show is held.

I really hope you are able to take this side trip to Evanston. I know it a fair piece out of your way toEvanston, but besides seeing one of the best guns shows around, you will alsobe able to see some of the best country Wyoming has to offer! Enjoy your visit to Wonderful Wyoming!

Thank you! I'll have to see where we're at on time as we head through that area. If we make good time, we'll definitely go check it out! Sounds like it's almost the size of the shows out here for ten times the people.
