It behove me to spell behoove correctly for the tense I was using it in... but I didn't... hence, I opened myself to egregious, but justified, remediation from BB... so, thank you, BB62, for your nazi-like attention to detail... may the fleas of 1000 camels infest... yeah, well, you know...

You are speaking, of course, as a repeated beneficiary of my scholarly knowledge of spelling and sentence construction, right?

As a far too often repeated beneficiary... not that that is a bad thing, as my diction is poor at times, but my spelling is horrendous! Hookt on fonix shur ain't not werkin' fer me!

My attorney advised me that there is no merit in self confessions. And particularly it is never wise to respond to any question that ends with a smiley face.

Good news.

I went to Central Park today and notice that the sign had been fixed. I was mentioning it to a couple of the guys there, and congratulating you folks who emailed the City of Fairborn. The conversation was overheard by a lady who introduced herself as the head of the Parks Department. She jokingly griped that this hit at their busiest time and asked that, if we ever did this again, to do it not at their busiest time of the year.

Kidding aside, she said that the matter had been fully corrected within 24 hours of it being brought to her attention. The website, every handout, and every sign had been edited. She said she did it because it was the law, and she was going to be in compliance with the law.

Wow. Folks who wrote emails should write another one, complimenting the head of the Parks Department for her swift action at a tough time for her department. Her bosses need to know what a quality manager she is.

Fairborn is an example of how a city should react when it discovers that it is in noncompliance with the law. Now, if the mayor would just quit MAIG...

Are those of you who wrote emails going to send a follow-up? The person took the job where her predecessor and others had screwed up. When the error was pointed out to her, she led an effort that corrected the problem within a miraculous 24 hours. We should be as quick to praise as we are to criticize--especially someone who so respects the law as to set a land-speed record in correcting violations of it!
