Good news.
I went to Central Park today and notice that the sign had been fixed. I was mentioning it to a couple of the guys there, and congratulating you folks who emailed the City of Fairborn. The conversation was overheard by a lady who introduced herself as the head of the Parks Department. She jokingly griped that this hit at their busiest time and asked that, if we ever did this again, to do it not at their busiest time of the year.
Kidding aside, she said that the matter had been fully corrected within 24 hours of it being brought to her attention. The website, every handout, and every sign had been edited. She said she did it because it was the law, and she was going to be in compliance with the law.
Wow. Folks who wrote emails should write another one, complimenting the head of the Parks Department for her swift action at a tough time for her department. Her bosses need to know what a quality manager she is.
Fairborn is an example of how a city should react when it discovers that it is in noncompliance with the law. Now, if the mayor would just quit MAIG...
