A MS DPS attorney, Timothy Smith, agrees there's something inherently wrong with having to obtain a permit to exercise a right. As he said, "you don't need a permit to speak freely, it doesn't make sense to need one to bear arms."
He referred me to a "gun friendly attorney," a Paul Guy, Jr, in McComb, MS. Seems Paul makes his own rifles, is into competition shooting.
But Paul seemed to be another of those "lifetime NRA members," someone who has NO desire to do ANYthing to restore/protect the rights of ANY gun owners.
He wished me luck in my endeavor to clarify this huge "misunderstanding," but never offered any assistance whatsoever.
