• We are now running on a new, and hopefully much-improved, server. In addition we are also on new forum software. Any move entails a lot of technical details and I suspect we will encounter a few issues as the new server goes live. Please be patient with us. It will be worth it! :) Please help by posting all issues here.
  • The forum will be down for about an hour this weekend for maintenance. I apologize for the inconvenience.

That's right up there with "relative bearing grease", if you were an FT you must have spent some time in SONAR. I rode boomers as a ping-jockey for 20+ years, but that was many moons ago....

During Pre-underways, when 'benchmarking' the scopes, I would send the dink non-qual FT's to find the locker in shaft alley where the relative bearing grease was stored.

During Rig for Black, we had a competition to see if we could punch the CO and XO without getting busted. You had to do it soon after they entered the dark control room, before their eyes got adjusted. Surprisingly, neither of them ever said a thing, nor acted like anything had happened.
