This bill isn't going to stop a mall from being a PFZ, though they won't be able to say no guns in your car in the parking lot.

Malls aren't PFZ....I think you mean this won't prevent them from banning them but this will protect your right to keep it in your car in their parking lot.

This bill isn't going to change homeowner rights. You don't want a firearm on your property that's fine, this won't change that.

The private party argument in opposition to this bill isn't really about homeowner rights, it's about a privately owned business not being able to control what is brought onto their propterty, i.e., the parking lot.

We should start supporting bills that have some meat in them, not just the baby food that they spoon feed us to keep the gun owners from getting restless.

The repeal of the no dueling law comes to mind...

I intend to support any bill that makes things better so we can chip away at the decades long erosion of our rights that were brought on by the hippy movement while "the greatest generation" was asleep.

Indeed. Some businesses are parking lots/garages.

I guess you're right. Im just sick of watching them do nothing, or next to nothing. Gun owners are supposed to be represented by the majority right now, but they cant so much as listen to us, have a conversation about it, wright it down, and sign something meaningful into law. Its incredibly simple, yet they can't even get that done.

What? Reciprocity has nothing to do with the PFZ we have to abide by in Michigan. We have such great recognition because
1. We recognize all states resident permits
2. We require training with live fire
3. We require the person getting the permit to be 21
4. Our permits expire after five years (yes believe it or not the fact that it expires in that amount of time actually helps us)
5. We do background checks including a fingerprinting

There may be some others but those def have a lot to do with it. The PFZ in Michigan really don't have anything to do with the states Michigan residents can carry in. And tell you the truth I'd like to see us do something like what North Dakota does and make a "class 2" permit. The permit would not require training, no fingerprinting, make the minimum age 18, and last longer than 5 years. While it would not be recognized in many states it would be great for people who don't really leave the state of Michigan.

And with CC you no longer have 1,2,3,4, or 5 so should what part is it we are not understanding?

"Great for people who don't leave the state"........ WOW, REALLY?
