It shouldn't take a tragedy to come to senses about conceal to carry

It is a sad thing to hear the hero of Merced have a change of heart towards conceal to carry. But to his credit he saw the light on 2A. Good for him!

Respectfully, IMHO it needs a tragedy to change most minds.

Whole generations have been brainwashed into believing that armed, uniformed representatives of the state will come to protect them and that the appropriate behavior is to wait for those representatives to arrive.

How much time, effort, and hot air has "our" side spent trying to convince "their" side that life does not work out well that way? Regardless if we are speaking to whole classes of people or one-on-one with an individual the ability to pierce that mindset has always proved difficult.

It's when some individual comes smack up with real life that they open their eyes, and then their mind. Sometimes they can use their experience to help others "see the light" before running smack into life themself, but all to often it just does not work out that way.

stay safe.

Just how many conceal, or open carry victims have their been? Time for the public to wake up, and smell the death.

Sadly true. It is said a conservative is a liberal who got mugged. I sometimes point out that a libertarian is a conservative who got run up on bogus charges. :)

Thank God for Libertarians ... who else can tell the GOP that their gun control stances and reasoning are mostly garbage. At least GOP members have a partially functioning brain.

I agree, but it should be instinctive that man ( Male and Female) is capable of massive evil. One of our founders encouraged us, to teach our youth about guns. Every time there is mass killing, stabbing in this case, just two, the bozos want to do the opposite: take defensive implements away, in this case guns. I see people in public walking in stupor. They don't look to the left or the right, or back. They have no clue about their changing surroundings.
